MADHOUSE have the most consistency in my opinion. Don't get me wrong they have some bad shows but I'd say 8/10 times I enjoy their work and very often they pull off a masterpiece. I'm a big fan of Shinbou SHAFT too but that is a fairly recent phenomenon and the recent shows apart from Monogatari Series have all been lackluster imo.

Please go watch Btooom, Sunday without God, or Photo Kano.

If you make it 3 episodes into Photo Kano I'll personally email an apology to Madhouse Studios.

For example, usually A-1 sucks at making action anime, but Aldnoah.Zero is surprisingly good because the Director isnt typically someone who works with A-1.[/quote] really cuz out of the few anime ive seen by A-1 they have pretty good fight scenes

At what point do cool fight scenes make a show good?

Sword Art, Guilty Crown, and Magi are good examples of why A-1 pictures should stick to slice of life.

As if one shitty CGI series that hasn't even aired and a few bad Goro movies can tarnish the legend of Miyazaki, takahata and the others... tone down the hyperbole, Solvite.
And for every NGNL and Btooom there is at least one Yuasa anime, Kon movie, FKMT adaption, etc. in Madhouse's portfolio in the last 25 years. Oh, and Dezaki projects. And Josei like NANA or Chihayafuru. Or good Shounen adaptions. Yeah, I forgive them for sucking when it comes to generic LN when they are great in most other areas.

Speaking of SHAFT:
They have Madoka, the highly overrated Monogatari, SZS, Hidamari, Arakawa and Soredemo... and nothing else really because everything else is just otaku pandering bullshit + some head tilts. And a lot of that is just well executed standard fare instead of more ambitious projetcs.

Watched 2 of those and yeah Btoooom was shit, I actually like PhotoKano but wouldn't try to argue it is good work of theirs. Now go watch Chihayafuru, Paprika and Kaiji.

*edit* Actually, I have watched Sunday without God too but didn't recognise the English title and really enjoyed that too.

My point is you just named pretty much everything Shaft has made in the last Decade.

Its easy to have hits like Madhouse when you have twice as many failures.

Why don't people understand this?

Also Moniogatari isn't over rated. You just have to maintain your bogus facade of a well bred intelligent individual, so of course you cant engage in watching shows based around pandering.

Monogatari is entertaining. That's what matters. I wish you spent more time convincing yourself of how irrelevant your taste is to others than you do trying to convince everyone that you have good taste.

Denpa Onna is a really REALLY good show.

You probably never watched it, and proceeded to trash the show based on this fake character you play on the internet.

There isn't much difference between Denpa Onna and anything else shaft has made. Other than the fact that the MC isnt a vampire or an abused child.

Id also like to point out that I voted for Production IG, not Shaft.

Simply insulting my personal favorite studio wont invalidate my argument against Madhouse.

I watch/read all of those. You are just a bit salty and use double standards. And while I like that SHAFT actually focusses on good franchises when they hit gold, their lack of ambitionous projects and new concepts is also a fault of the studio's management.
Not that Madhouse's management is any better by now...

Not sure how Nisekoi is a flop.

Its very highly rated on MAL, has above average sales, and is generally seen as a huge improvement over the shitty manga.

I really hope we don't turn this thread into another of Nidhoggers expressions of his hipster lifestyle.

Didn't think Id see him go so hipster as to support madhouse based on shit from 10 years ago though.

The real crime here is that 50 votes in, Studio Deen still has more votes than Gainax and Ghibli.

True.
However, stop using MAL ratings as a source of credibility to wank Nisekoi and then put down the entirety of ratings when it doesn't fit your standard and use ad hominem like me expressing my hipster lifestyle (with One Piece and Berserk in my faves lol). This is the double standard I mean. Anyway, we both know this argument will lead to nothing so why don't we just drop it here?

You realize the bolded section of your post is ad hominem based on shit from other threads right?

Right?

You call monogatari over rated because it's popular. That's what you do. Its your thing.

This poll is pretty dumb and unrealistically spread.

Madhouse is #1 because of NGNL and HxH.

UFOtable is #2 because people are convinced that an anime that hasnt even been made yet is going to be the best anime ever made based on a show that came out years ago with a different writer and director.

and then you have Kyo-Ani third, which I don't find surprising, given that they make pretty girls.

They are. But the source of the votes are the ridiculous popularity fate/stay night has on MAL right now.

Best: UFOtable
-Kara no Kyoukai, their insanely talented animators, and their apparent hatred of censorship will keep it the best for a good while.

Favorite: BONES
-Soul Eater, FMA: Brotherhood, Chaika - The Coffin Princess, and Blast of Tempest; cmon, whats not to love?

Worst: A-1 Pictures
-Fairy Tail is literally a bloodless battle anime and Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, was so altered, its damned ridiculous.
