| Tis alright, gets annoying with Simon saying "ANIKI" almost every episode which reminded me of .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet where the siblings seem to almost say nothing, but each others name. I had high expectations since people kept saying "HOMG TIS AMAZIN *gwaafaize* Its good in the beginning, the middle seems to take a while to get through, and the end is alright...although there are good scenes to get pics from..and lets not forget how we have to keep seeing a larger form of the Gurren Lagann every x amount of episodes as well.. Overall its enjoyable. |

| TTGL isn't a masterpiece but it deserves a 9. It was a fun watch with great characters and a generic plot (which was kinda the point wasn't it?) I haven't watched LotGH yet but I'll get around to it. |

| Well, it had a plot, it just had a very simple and cliché one. But if you watched TTGL for the plot, you were doing something wrong. If you want plot and characters, watch LoGH. If you want to turn off your brain and watch ridiculously giant robots, yelling, explosions and some tits now and then, watch TTGL. And if you want just that but with wangst and emo teenagers, watch Gayass or Gundamm Seed. |
| There's nothing wrong with simplicity, Gurren Lagann seeks for simplicity in order to end with an epic scope. I really enjoyed the simplicity of Gurren Lagann's and the result in the very end was clearly grandiose. Now it had its shitload of plot holes and deus ex machina but it didn't try to be realistic at all. And it's all for the best, it released itself from all realism and credibility in order to have an epic scope and an incredible dynamism. It's really rare that an anime take this kind of risk. |
