@loveleonfan - I saw it and here's what I thought...
Song choice - 5/5
Anime choice - 5/5
Flow - 3/5
Editing - 3.5/5
Effects - 3/5
Overall quality - 4/5

I really liked the main part of the AMV however it would have been much better without the intro & outro and if your editing skills were better. ^_^

A good tip most of them time is not to use talking scenes / still scenes.

You want your AMV to always be dynamic and captivating. Master_M2K is right in keeping it short.

1. Well actually I've learnt how to play several musical instruments in the past (I think 6), so maybe I know a bit more about flow & tempo. Anyways I'm just saying that you really should shorten your songs. 2-4mins is what you should be aiming for.

3. Stuff like not randomly using the preset effects or shortening the AMV, so the watching won't be bored.

4. I can't afford them either, so I got 'em throw other means... *wink* *wink*

It's not my fault we're in a recession. Dx
All i can afford is...well, nothing. I have the standard iMovie, like I mentioned before. :( It's very hard to encode anything onto youtube. Believe me.

1. I understand perfectly. But I do think my sense of timing has improved. As a musician (not just someone who plays notes. T_T ahem.) as a MUSICIAN i probably know more than you about flow and tempo. i'm just not applying them right is all. ^_^ so thanks! i'll work harder on that.

2. Forgive me! The only one with subs is the Code Geass one, and that was my very first AMV. Like a year ago haha. Believe me, NEVER AGAIN.

3. Can you elaborate please?

4. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU AFFORD CS3 YOU BASTARD?! ;_;

MoeNekoDrill - First of all I would like to say that youtube isn't an AMV killer, you just have to learn to encode into one of the more youtube friendly codecs like H.264. My most recent creation is the perfect example of this - LINK

As for your AMVs it's unfortunate to see how little you've progressed in actual vid editing skill since you've start creating AMVs. Your Clannad one was very typical just like all the others and the DtB one would have been better with tighter editing.

Well when it comes to AMVs creation there are 3 things you really need to consider:

1. The song - You need to develop an understanding of the song you want to use like it's meaning, the flow and the tempo. If there's some unnecessary bits in the song then shortening it because it's difficult enough to create a long interesting AMV. I had to learn this the hard way in my 1st two AMVs.

2. The anime - Try using anime that fits the song. Oh and nobody wants to see fansubs in an AMV.

3. The audience - This is a no-brainer but when you create something for people to see you really have to think about those people.

Oh and don't forget to have fun. ^_^

Well that's all I wanna say and of course I'm no expert but I've created enough crap to get better at it. Right now I'm making a MMV that requires learning how to use; After Effects CS3, Photoshop CS3 and 3D Max Studio 9. I wonder how it'll turn out...

Hi! I'm a beginner and I wanted to know if the more experienced AMV makers would take a look at my vids! ^-^ Please just take a few minutes to watch them. (I am most proud of my Darker than Black one, and Clannad one.) Please leave comments and tell me what you think! THANK YOU!
