Why must we argue on which anime is better? Both are just as epic but in their own way.

Looking at this Thread made me realize how much people are making a big deal about this. It makes me a bit sad because I love both of them how could I ever choose just one?

I have watched a whole first season of Higurashi and a bit of a second. I think that it's great

as i saw on your anime list, you've watched almost whole first season. Most things about why its reapeating it self is in the 2nd season well explained, so I just recomend you to finish the serie up to the 2nd season. In 3th Ova series Rei is also bit of story(connecting hgurashi, a bit with Umineko).

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is one of better anime but I didn't finish it...

I love Higurashi and Umineko. They're similar (as should be expected from being by the same author), yet different enough to be engaging and worthwhile. Umineko is my favorite VN, and while I can't play Higurashi on my PC (I don't know why it won't start up), the manga adaptation is one of the best manga series I've read.
