So how are you?
I will share some info about myself. So you get a general idea of what types of anime I'm interested in.
I've been into anime for over 6 years. It started with Naruto and my tastes developed into what they are now over time.
I can watch pretty much any genre of anime aside from sports. The main requirements being that I like at least a few of the characters and/or a very good story. Everything else is secondary but things like the soundtrack, animation (I enjoy the animation styles of the 1990's and 2000's a little more than modern day styles) can enhance the anime to make it better than it would be.
The genres I watch most often include ones that have elements of fantasy, psychological, and demons. All of my top 5 favorite animes and by extension big 5 characters will have some elements of these. (I'll get more into the big 5 later.)
I also read manga, though not as much as I watch anime. There are a few manga series I've really gotten into (namely Mahou Sensei Negima, and Claymore)
Aside from anime I also play video games (mainly JRPGs, dungeon crawlers, online flash games) and read fantasy novels.
The Big 5 I mentioned earlier refer to the top 5 characters on my favorite characters list. While there are 100's of anime characters I like, these 5 characters have impacted me in a special way that I don't know that any other character can give off such a feeling. The other 5 spots on my characters list change randomly. But the top 5 are never going to be replaced. Even if my favorite anime changes, I don't foresee these characters changing.
Overall I am generous when I rate anime, I give many 10s, 9s, and 8s when I like animes, 9s and 10s when I really like them. Because what's the point of watching anime if you don't like it? 7 means okay, and anything 6 or below means I didn't like it.
I'm going to list my current top 10 favorite anime because the top 5 feels a little small.

I understand you didn't like the art style, in no way am I criticizing the fact you didn't enjoy or dropped Monster. What is absurd is rating an anime you have dropped, moreover having only watched four episodes.
Usually, common-sense dictates that a show of any nature should be rated for the whole, not for the first few episodes, whereas ironically the thriller doesn't even start.
Please don't get me wrong, Aurora. I don't care how you rate your anime, and I don't intend to change anything. This comment I am typing write now, together with the before I have sent you, are only mere outbursts so to speak. I noticed your rating, and I felt like sharing how absurd I think that is with someone, instead of keeping it inside, and I thought it should be you yourself, for clear reasons.
In a side note, I hope you are doing well.

I don't know what to list the favorite manga since I don't really read manga lol ^^;
I played Persona 3 FES, that was the first time I knew Shin Megami Tensei(never play Persona 3 though). I never play SMT before P3FES.. and the next series is Persona 4. Both play with PS2, but I don't play games anymore. u_u
I don't much the order of the series, it looks complicated like .hack series.

Heyy! :) yes we have quite a lot of anime shared :P what do you think of Shakugan No Shana so far? I think it was pretty close to making it into the top 5, it's top 10 for sure ^_^ Maybe you're not far enough to make a decision yet? ^^

Yea, I like how Shiro's acts with her noobness. But her other side is really awesome! I like the concept of Deadman Wonderland. The prisoners has to make shows or win the contest to get money.. which is pretty brutal. And use blood as a weapon is a cool idea. I would glad to watch it if there's a season 2 of DW, but I heard DW has horrible sales. *shrug*
There's a big reason why Mystogan looks exactly like Jellal. Mystogan is the Jellal version from other world. Same like Jellal is Mystogan version from the current world we are watching/reading now. There's Edolas arc/chapter, it will reveal more about him and it really gonna suprising you if you haven't reach the chapter XD After the end of the chapter, he didn't appear in the anime anymore. I hope he come back soon T^T
