SHAFT was founded in September 1, 1975 by former Mushi Production's director, Hiroshi Wakao alongside with Studio Deen for finishing paint from other animation studios such as Sunrise and Shin-ei Animation. In 1980, the company expanded its business by working on anime production as subcontractor. In 1987, the company has produced their first original series, Yume kara samenai

I was very happy when SHAFT had two series at once last summer but after the desaster of an under-animated Bakemonogatari episode due to lack of staff, I can't help but wonder if it's such a good idea to do that again. :/
