Akio Furukawa (古河 秋生)
Akio is Nagisa's father. Although he often talks and plays rough, he is kind and sympathetic. His childish side makes it easy for people to befriend him. He runs the Furukawa Bakery with his wife Sanae. In his spare time, Akio plays baseball with children in the small park next to the bakery, and indulges in the Gundam fandom. (Source: Wikipedia)

Fun facts: About 6 times throughout the two seasons we would see him running out of his bakery shop with an UBO (Unidentified Bread Object) in his mouth, which brings humor to the audience everytime he does that with Furukawa Sanae. He used to be a talented and popular actor in pursuit of his dreams of theatre, but gave them up to raise Nagisa. He never told Nagisa, for fear he would upset her into believing that it was her fault that her father could never chase his dream.
