As a member of the Toosaka family, he entered the Fourth Holy Grail War as the Master of Archer (Gilgamesh). Kiritsugu Emiya identifies Tokiomi as one of the two most threatening magi involved in the war after assessing all the Masters involved. Tokiomi is an arrogant and manipulative man who strives, as all powerful magi do, to reach Akasha, or "the root of all knowledge."
