His ability has is fully shown in chapter 114. It is originally hinted to be something that is able to kill someone with one touch as shown in chapter 42. This ability is not restricted to skin-to-skin contact, as when he was grabbed by a government agent who had gloves, the agent was killed by Fyodor's ability. But in actuality, "crime and punishment" exists to punish anyone who commits a crime to Dostoyevsky. In chapter 114, his ability is shown to have the potential to take his killers body, after death.

His ability is revealed to allow him to take control of the bodies of those who killed him.
