I noticed that there are some similarities between the OPs of Key-Ani's Kyo-Ani's anime adaptations of visual novels by Key. Since I've had no experience with the VNs, I am not sure if Key or Kyo-Ani is the cause of this.

I am trying to make a compilation of re-used character designs in anime that I've seen. It is going to be a nightmare fun when I finish watching Tsubasa Chronicles.

Eve (Black Cat) / Golden Darkness (To-LOVE-Ru)

Kyoko Kirisaki (Black Cat) / Magical Kyoko (To-LOVE-Ru)

Kamui Shirou (X) / Lelouch Vi Britannia (Code Geass)

Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop) / Mugen (Samurai Champloo)

All those who have seen the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha series should have noticed that their battles are quite similar to those in mecha shows. The following is a working list of the references to Super Robot Wars: Original Generation.

Nanoha Takamachi => Weissritter / Rein Weissritter

  • Nanoha is known as the “White Devil”. The theme song for the pilot of the Weissritter/Rein Weissritter (Excellen Browning) is called “Fallen White Angel”.
  • Similar signature attacks. "Starlight Breaker" vs "Howling Launcher X”

Signum => Angelg

  • Both Signum and the pilot of Angelg (Lamia Loveless) are voiced by the same person (Kaori Shimizu).
  • Signum is an artificial intelligence, whereas Lamia Loveless is an android.
  • Similar signature attacks. "Sturm Falken" vs "Phantom Phoenix”

Subaru Nakajima => R-1, Alteisen / Alteisen Riese

  • Subaru’s “Divine Buster” at melee range is effectively the same attack as R-1’s “T-Link Knuckle”.
  • Subaru gets a DEF upgrade that sacrifices maneuverability, just like the Alteisen’s upgrade to Alteisen Riese.
  • Alteisen’s “Revolver Stake” (or Alteisen Riese’s “Revolver Bunker”) + R-1’s “T-Link Knuckle” = Revolver Knuckle (one of Subaru’s Intelligent Devices)?

Just finished watching Rozen Maiden and Rozen Maiden: Ouvertüre. Starting on Rozen Maiden: Träumend, and I can't help but feel creeped out when watching the OPs.

I mean, not only were the dolls made to be pretty freaky looking, and the songs by the Ali Project seem to amplify the uneasiness.
