Complete - Reading - Plan to Read

Type [ 4 / 4 ]
 » Read a one-shot: Jurassic Gakuen
Go read it. It's just 7-9 pages and it's amazing. 7/10
» Read a manga that is a collection of short stories: Hoshi ni Naru Hi
All the stories are so bittersweet. 7/10
» Read a webmanga or 4-koma: Doujin Work
It's kind of funny at times but it's really repetitive. I really enjoyed the spin-off at the end, maybe even more than the main manga. 5/10
» Read an award-winning work: Yunagi no Machi Sakura no Yuni
award -> Tezuka Osamu Creative Award
Really sad and it's a very interesting story. 7/10

Creators [ 3 / 4 ]
» Read a manga by one of your favorite authors/artists: Azumanga Daioh
It was a fun read, but I think I like the anime a little bit more. 7/10
» Read a manga published in the same magazine in which your favorite one was serialized: Murasakiiro no Qualia
magazine -> Dengeki Daioh
» Read a manga by an author/artist you don't know: Angel Voice
author -> Makimura Kumi
Nice shoujo with some parts that are pretty dark but it's a little bland. 6/10
» Read a manga from a magazine with less than 250 titles listed in the database: Onnanoko ga Shinu Hanashi
Magazine = Monthly Action
Wow, this was a surprise. I love to find gems like that. 9/10

Years [ 4 / 4 ]
» Read a manga that started serialization the year you joined MAL: Tousei Gensou Hakubutsushi
It had so much potential but nothing happens. Hyakki Yakoushou is kind of similar but is much better. 6/10
» Read a manga published before 1990: Kubikiri Asa
I love this art style so much. 7/10
 » Read a manga published between 1990 and 2000: D-ASH
Interesting but a bit too angsty for me. 7/10
» Read a manga published between 2000 and 2010: Mahoraba
Kind of fun to read but I feel like it's missing something. 7/10

Tags, Themes & Demographics [ 17 / 20 ]
» Read a manga with a main cast mostly of one gender: Dororo
» Read a manga with adults as the main cast: Octave
I like this kind of realistic romance but the drama is really annoying. 7/10
» Read a manga that focuses on non-romantic relationships: Bushido Sixteen
» Read a manga that focuses on a couple with a romantic relationship: Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou
The part between volume 2 and volume 9 is kind of boring but it becomes so much better after that. You learn a lot about all the characters after volume 8. 8/10
» Read a manga with children as the main cast: Milk Closet
I really like the story and the weirdness of it but some parts are really rushed and it's not that well written. 6/10
» Read a manga with a non-human main character: Pluto
The story is absolutely fantastic. A new favorite <3
» Read a manga about food, music or art: Kakukaku Shikajika
A new favorite of mine. This is the most personal manga I've ever read and it's so easy to relate to the author and her life. 9/10
» Read a Historical, Military or Police manga: Sanctuary
I really didn't like the beginning of Sanctuary and everyone is a jerk or an idiot in this manga. 7/10
» Read a Sci-Fi, Space or Mecha manga: Biomega
I feel like I'm in Metal Gear Solid. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it goes from super serious stuff in a dystopian universe to a talking bear (who is also russian apparently). 6/10
» Read a Dementia, Horror, Demons or Vampire manga: The Tarot Café
The art is beautiful (even if the mangaka made some interesting fashion choices) but the stories tend to be just okay or really bad. 5/10
» Read a Mystery, Thriller or Psychological manga: Confession
Nice and simple thriller. I feel like it would be a nice live action. 7/10
» Read a Sports, Martial Arts, Cars or Games manga: Katsu!
I'm not really objective when it comes to sports and martial arts manga. I love all the cheesy cliches; the training, the underdog and the surprise victory. 7/10
» Read a Super Powers, Fantasy or Supernatural manga: Monochrome Factor
I was expecting so much more of this manga. 5/10
» Read a Harem, Ecchi, Shoujo Ai or Shounen Ai manga: Sasameki Koto
It was a cute story, but it's also kind of forgettable. 7/10
» Read a manga that is tagged with a genre you dislike: Half & Half genre -> ecchi
» Read a manga that has a main character that is a professional in his field: Munakata Kyouju Denkikou
The stories and the art were really interesting, but it was getting a bit tedious to read near the end. 7/10
» Read a manga with an archetype as a main character: Mirai Nikki
A bit boring and some parts just don't make sense. It's better in anime form. 5/10
» Read a manga with a target demographic that does not apply to you: Hito Hitori Futari -> Seinen
Another nice surprice. Very similar to Sanctuary but I find the characters in Hito Hitori Futari more charismatic. 8/10
» Read a manga with a target demographic that can apply to you: Private Actress -> Josei
A bunch of really good characters in some weird stories. 7/10
» Read a manga that has a main character of gender opposite to the demographic: Tista
It just made me sad. 6/10

Adaptations [ 2 / 4 ]
» Read a manga based on a one-shot that got serialized: Furou Kyoudai
» Read a manga that has been adapted to live action: My Girl
Oh my god, the feels. Less funny than Usagi Drop but the story is much better. 9/10
» Read a manga that has not been adapted in any way: Arakure
Another shoujo. 6/10
» Read a manga adapted from a video game, original anime or light novel: Sugar Dark

Stats [ 3 / 4 ]
» Read a manga with a score of or below 7.0 in MyAnimeList: Chagecha
» Read a manga with a score of or above 8.5 in MyAnimeList: Shin Angyo Onshi
The first part was kind of boring but everything after volume 10 was amazing. 8/10
» Choose a highly rated manga from another challenger who posted on the same page you signed up on: Ran to Haiiro no Sekai
from @MelanoidMeow manga list
Another new favorite. 8/10
» Read a manga with less than 750 completed members: Motto, Ikitai...
I don't know what to say, the story was just so weird and filled with religious metaphors. 4/10

Challenge & MAL related [ 4 / 5 ]
» Read a manga recommended to you by another Manga Reading Challenge participant: Houkago Hokenshitsu
recommendation by @ReaperCreeper
Entertaining and weird. I loved the ending. 6/10
» Read a manga that another user has read for this challenge: Gunnm
read by @Horkus
Not a fan of the motorball arc, but it was a fun read. 8/10
» Read a staff member's favorite manga: Ciguatera
from @eL_marco favorite manga
A really interesting manga about the coming of age of a boy. Some parts are pretty dark but the rest of the story made me think of when I was a teenager. Everyone is so awkward. 7/10
» Read a manga from the recently reviewed list: Aqua Reviewed by sawa-eun on 07/01/2016 and started on 07/02/2016
I like it much better than the anime and it's really relaxing. 8/10
» Read a manga from the ones listed under manga relations in this club: Utahime

Miscellaneous [ 2 / 5 ]
» Read a manga that starts with the same last letter of your username: Nabari no Ou
» Choose a random trope from TVTropes and read a manga listed under the trope: Franken Fran
trope -> Grotesque cute
Insane and entertaining. 8/10
» Choose a manga from the predictive search using a generated random word: Loose Senki: Old Boy word -> old
» Read a manga that has been on your Plan to Read list for too long: Fruits Basket
I really like the anime but the manga is much better and the ending is really good. 8/10
» Read a manga with a protagonist that shares your hair color: Ga-Rei
Hair color was too easy so it's hair and eye color -> Kagura Tsuchimiya

ϟBonus Challenges [ 4 / 8 ]
» Read a light novel: Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria
» Read a doujinshi listed in the DB: Michiru Heya
» Read a manhua or manhwa: Annarasumanara
Wow, I read all the chapters in one day. Amazing manhwa and really interesting art. 8/10
» Start and catch up to an on-going long-running (300+) series: 3x3 Eyes
The hardest part of the challenge has begun.
» Read a manga published before 1980: Apollo no Uta
I really liked it but it was so weird at times. 7/10
» Read a manga based on real event or person: Waga Na wa Nero
I don't know much about roman history but now I know that Nero was batshit crazy. 8/10
» Read a manga that is related (e.g. sequel, side story) to something you previously read
» Read a manga series you can finish in one day: Seishun Otome Banchou
So adorable! 8/10

I had to delete this entry because I don't remember when it was reviewed and I'm pretty sure I started it way after I found it in the recently reviewed list. I need to remember to take a screenshot of the review and start the manga the same day.
Read a manga from the recently reviewed list: Alive: Saishuu Shinkateki Sounen
I wasn't expecting it to be this good and I thought it was going to be about zombies (don't ask me why). If you like Psyren, the story is pretty similar. 8/10
