Six years on MAL.

I was 14 years old when I joined this site. Now I'm almost 21. What?
The past year has been a strange one. I've gone from depressed-shut-in-NEET to sorta-depressed-alcoholic-university-student. On MAL I've been far more active than any previous year, and it's perhaps brought more hate than I care to deal with. It seems like every second day there is an angry child to block or a troll trying to kick me off the site. Thankfully my 4chan years have given me skin of steel; I am not sure that many people would be able to handle the barrage of insults and constant reminders that they are a 'shit writer'.
I've also made close friends and had plenty of interesting conversations, so there is good with the bad, I suppose.
It's strange to think I was still obsessed with Azusa less than a year ago. Then it was Noire and now I'm all weird and crazy about Rin from Little Busters. I'm a bad, bad man, but I can say with confidence (and without embarrassment) that they are genuine feelings of love. I'm just not big on the whole, y'know, dakimakura-in-arm loathing-all-real-women mindset that seemingly every otaku subscribes to. It's a serious lovey-dovey thing but I know the reality before my eyes.
So what will you see from me in 2014? More of the same, I'd think. Regular reviews at the typical one-to-two-week pace and my usual ramblings in the forums, comments and blogs. I have plans of branching into the YouTube thing and professional writing at some point but I still have quite a bit of growing to do before then. You can expect me to remain active on MAL throughout 2014 and 2015, at the very least. Perhaps longer. Who can say?

I'm honestly starting to feel like /a/ is the marginally less terrible of the two. /a/ is dumb, but at least it's an intentional sort of dumb. MAL is filled with genuine idiocy.
