Collections of anime with weird/goofy premises

This is a collection of my favorite anime to come out in 2023. All of these are worth a watch.

This is a stack of comedic and light-hearted romance shows. These shows will stay light-hearted throughout the series, avoiding most sad or drama-related undertones.

If you liked the concept of this stack, you might be interested in a very similar stack, but for manga, titled: Unadapted Light-Hearted Rom-Com Manga (No GL/BL or Fantasy). So feel free to give it a look if these types of series interest you.

What it says on the tin

This stack is intended for a show that premiered and peaked in popularity during the so-called Generation Z, and was also largely intended for this audience (people born between 1997 and 2012). Accordingly, the list also includes updated versions of classic franchises for modern audiences.

The most prominent signs or clichés of anime for the zoomer audience:

* Return to the topic of confrontation between adolescents and adults who do not understand them and the conflict of individualism against collectivism in general.
* More progressive content, expanded focus on feminism, environmentalism, LGBTQ friendliness and awareness of many other social topics, etc.
* More female (especially in previously more or less male franchises) or unusual development of male protagonists, expansion of the role and writing of female characters in general.
* Increased attention to the realities of modern life like gadgets, social networks (Internet) and modern pop culture in general.
* More focus on psychology and personal experiences, including the suffering of the characters than on pure action and fanservice.
* More adaptations of non-standard sources or topics like Korean manhwa or Chinese games.

P.S. The list is constantly updated depending on the emergence of new significant anime or the loss of relevance of old ones.
