The series deal with magic and the two main character girls are simply kind and caring along with adorable and plus the two main voice actors in Kobato are also in Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora. And there is a grumpy guy in both of them , in a way the animes are the same but also different but only the same when it comes to the characters but still very fantasy and magical.

Relaxing, slice-of-life anime with a hint of melancholy to them. Both are very sad shows and they might not have an ending where everything ends up perfectly. They both also have settings that are unique in slice-of-life anime.

Both tell a lot through music and include plenty of it within the anime itself. Also, both have a deeper reflection than what meets the eye at first. The stories, although including art/comedy in the case of H&C or magic/politics in the case of Natsu no Sora, center in life itself.

Both are about young people leading their lives in a city. Even though Mouhoutsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto focuses on supernatural elements the way the drama unfolds is rather similar. Also, both shows focus on relationships and how people handle those relationships. Without spoiling anything the way they end is quite different but that doesn't take away from the overall atmosphere and experience.

The both have a similar aura/design (the colors). There is a calmness and "summer" feeling surrounding them. While the plots are completely different the way things are portrayed is similar because they both have this realistic feel to them. I would almost say they feel naturalistic. While Niea can have an exaggerated personality Mayuku is pretty much down to Earth just like most characters in Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto.

Clannad and Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora are both very slow-paced slice-of-life shows that are relaxing to watch. There's more drama than in typical slice-of-life anime, and it can get very sad at times.

The anime are slice of life in modern day Japan where mages are seemingly accepted (more so in Mahou Tsukai, since many people don't know about magic in FW). The main character is a girl that can do magic. Mahou no Tsukai takes it in another direction with the MC getting schooled on how to use magic, while in FW the main character seems to do magic all on her own. The imagery in both anime is very nice to look at and the mood is calm.

Time is fleeting thought, and must come to terms before time is up. No matter how much someone desires it, nothing lasts forever.

Although different in many ways, they give off the same feelings. If you like one you will like the other.

Slice of life of magical young girls, focused on their first work esperiences. The magical girls have to help and to do services for the normal human people, in order to get their own independence.

Both are drama/supernatural with strong similarities in the plot. Also they have: - Main guy who is antisocial at first but slowly warms up to the heroine. - Energetic naive heroine who does her best to help others and make friends. - An unexpected event that occurs regarding the heroine. - A beautiful scene of bonding mother-daughter near the end. - The main guy has crucial scenes with the heroine near by the sea/beach. - The heroine is somehow related to the sky: In Air, she names her crow "Sora"(Sky) and she is related to the Sky maiden while in Natsu no Sora the heroine´s name is Sora and she  read more

Both series deal with modern day mages. While Mahou Tsukai deals with magic with a more "realistic" way, Gendai Mahou clearly exaggerated the effect of magic. However, both involves young students studying under a master.

Both shows deal with young people who possess powers of one sort or another, and both are generally episodic in nature, although Natsu no Sora's overall story is more compact because it runs for fewer episodes. They're both fairly lighthearted on the whole, and although Natsu no Sora is the better show, Telepathy Shoujo Ran comes a close second.

The picturesque artwork is reminiscent of Natsu no Sora.

Both shows focus on strong characters with minimal visual flashiness. Maico is more comedy and Sora is more coming-of-age romance.

Unhappy story of a young girl who receive many help requests, in order to resolve their problems. Many minor characters appear only one episode.

Really light and easy going, pretty visuals, and life values.

Same genre, same studio, same seiyuu for the main heroines, and great opening themes in both of them. The atmosphere is not very similar (Sketchbook is more calm and Natsu no Sora is more dramatic), but if you liked one series, it would be worth trying another.

Take Bartender, replace bartenders with magical girls and you have Natsu no Sora. Both are laid-back slice of life series.
