- Centers around a group of young girls - You, the viewer, experiences some great world building right alongside the characters as they explore a new world - Each episode we get to see how the supernatural world changes our protagonists in order for them to survive which makes it exciting to watch - Nothing is what it really seems just like in WEP

Both involve two girls "stranded" in a strange world(s). However, the two have a different aesthetic of strangeness. Flip Flappers has a saturatedly distortive and hallucinatory tone while Urasekai Picnic is doomeresque.

The story centers around two girls with almost opposite personalities. This makes their interactions and journey together interesting and fun to watch. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou does cover much heavier themes (philosophical) than Urasekai Picnic, however. Urasekai Picnic is a different genre but both have interesting plots that once you start you have to finish!

They have very similar vibes They are both about two people who roam a deserted land They kind of follow the same formula, like monster of the week+ an overarching plot

Protagonists are investigating creepy stories. There is lasting sense of dread, mystery and horror. Terrifying, mystical creatures haunt the villages, abandoned houses and caves. There are two worlds. Specific atmosphere of both shows is similar

I kinda think urasekai Picnic is quite similar to kokkoku it kinda gives of the same vibe about how in both anime the main characters enter a different world/side of the world to save someone/look for someone I really loved kokkoku it was a great anime and I'm loving urasekai Picnic too so if u like either of the to animes you'll pretty sure like the other

Similarities - Both MCs hallucinate strange phenomenons/monsters - Both MCs have an energetic friend Differences - Urasekai Picnic is a GL/yuri anime VS Mieruko chan is CGDCT non romantic - Urasekai Picnic is an isekai VS Mieruko chan isn't

The main premise is about a parallel/different dimension which a group of girls travels to. Slight hints of yuri too.

The main characters stumble upon a supernatural alternate reality. In Otherside Picnic they confront urban legends that manifest as spirits and monsters. Ghost Hunt focuses on uncovering mysteries. Both follow younger characters who are curious. Each series deals with themes of grief and friendship.

Both shows have their own take in a supernatural way and make it in a very good way. The characters involved encounter dangerous supernatural stuff, lost souls, and enter into a deadly "Otherside" world. -Otherside picnic is about 2 college girls who follow the occultic and creepypasta stories to actually enter the "otherside" world and actually get trapped there once. -Dennou coil is about a bunch of children playing with AR glasses, but bugs and glitches could take their consciousness out of the body and into a glitched world beyond the real world, known as the "otherside". If you like the mystery and tension in either show then  read more

If you watched urasekai hoping for a horrifying exploration of a world that obeys different worlds then made in abyss is a great choice instead of uresekai, dealing with the tension and horror of this (imo) way better. The only thing keeping this from not being a hard horror is the setting- being a fantasy world gives a layer of seperation the horrors shown and us. Similairly Uresekai is much closer to our worlkd since the "isekai-lite" setting many episodes set up tension well although unfortunately this is poorly worked upoon.

Both involve the occult and ghosts and the characters hunt them down and solve mysteries. The main characters are also college aged (except for Yayoi).
