Gundam 00 isn't as good as code geass but there were multiple times where i felt as though i'd seen the same thing in code geass, in gundam Setsuna believes he can change the world with the power of a gundam, and in CG leluch believes he can change the world with Geass, both shows have losses that the main character and everyone aroud must go through, death and suffering, pretty much very similar ideas, both great shows recommend watching both.

Gundam 00's 2nd Season draws a lot of parallels to Z Gundam, the most notable of which are A-Laws to Zeta's Titans, and Celestial Being to the Anti-Earth Union Group. Zeta is also a sequel to the first Gundam series, and considered one of the best, so it's definitely worth a watch.

The relationship between Setsuna F. Seiei and Princess Marina Ismail is very similar to that of Heero Yuy and Princess Relena Peacecraft. In terms of pacifist ideals, both princesses have similar ideals and the same goes for both protagonists who put a lot of effort into completing their tasks as Gundam pilots, always putting extra emphasis on how important it is to be a Gundam pilot and their missions ahead of their own interests.
The only difference is the mobile suit. Setsuna pilots a short-ranged combat unit that wields 7 blades, while Heero pilots a long-ranged suit that utilizes 2 powerful buster rifles.
