Both Anime use CGI to show fluid fights that makes use of every frame. They both are about underground fighting with very little rules and heavy blood lost.

I watched both series expecting some fine hand to hand combat, and both delivered well in that aspect. The spotlight goes to the fight itself, if that what you are looking the series have well animated and choreographed fights. It was fun and eye pleasing. One difference is that Kengan has a bit more serious tone.

Both shows are hyper-focused on Martial Arts bouts and feature extraordinary fighting without the use of super powers.

Both shows are are set up in similar ways with a laser-focused lens on Tournament-style combat bouts. The primary difference is that Record of Ragnorok features heroes of legend instead or original characters.

Pure action anime, with plenty of manly muscular man in hand to hand combat. Also, tournament.

Brutal tournament fighting without weapons. Variety of martial arts used and also explained during fights which is quite interesting. Doctors capable of resurrecting the dead and fighters with feats far greater than those of normal humans. Fighters making comebacks in fights despite all odds etc etc. Both shows even have a doctor participating in the tournament. Protagonist who wants to become stronger. Very similar shows. Kengan has more of a story line but I enjoyed the fights in Baki a bit more. (This season of Baki has the worst OP I have ever seen btw.)

Both are centered around exploring different fighting styles and just super strong men brawling it out.

The stories are extremely similar, so wholesome.

Mix Martial arts and Tournament related fights are included in both of this anime. Opponents train and fight each other to the point that they are unable to move. One opponent after another.

Both anime follow a very strong character, that always searches for different ways to win seemingly unwinnable battles. Animation styles are very similar, even though Kengan Ashura is cgi. Supporting characters behave similarly, they all feel they're the best and have the upper hand in a fight. Each opponent has a different fighting technique (stand in Jojo). OST is incredible in both series.

Both shows are about young martial artists of different styles seeking to get stronger by engaging in brutal matches. Both protagonists are already adept students of a mysterious deadly fighting style from the very start (Niko and Nanshin Shadow style). While Kengan Ashura starts from a tournament arc right away, Tough gradually builds up by having Kiibo fight different opponents but unfortunately the OVA does not cover the manga's tournament arc.

Both have famous source material and tons of great fights. Baki is more over the top than Kengan, especially the farther in you go but Kengan Ashura makes up for it with its greater diversity of fighters. Also Kengan has better scenes in between fights - not that most people care. After all these 2 anime/manga focus heavily on fighting, in Baki theres hardly anything outside of it other than training while in Kengan theres exchanges between the top brass of companies, and non-hostile interactions between fighters which gives depth to the characters of Kengan that Baki characters get.

Business deals are usually made through meetings and contracts; but in the world of Kengan Ashura, businesses resort to other means to make their decisions: by hiring gladiators. Yabako Sandrovich's Kengan Ashura depicts a world brimming with action, violence, and martial arts—one where powerful gladiators have fought in grand arenas since the Edo Period to settle the disputes of wealthy businesses and merchants. Ouma Tokita, who is nicknamed "The Ashura," is a fighter trying to prove himself as the strongest. Hideki Nogi, a member of the Nogi Group, hires Ouma to fight for him and makes Kazuo Yamashita, an average middle-aged man, his manager. The duo  read more
