Promare

Studio Trigger is the successor to Gainax, which made Gurren Lagann. It was founded by people from Gainax following Gurren Lagann. Promare is, in addition to being a visual masterpiece that manages to be seamless between 2D and 3D CGI animation, is LITERALLY Gurren Lagann mashed together with Kill la Kill. If you like the character Kamina, Promare's main character is pretty much him.  

similar in spirit alone, characters much much less alive and story and subject matter is nothing gurren lagann. Im a die hard gurren lagann fan and found elements to be the same but this one was very very 3rd rate. 

Same creative team and very similar style of fights, characters, and hype levels. More plot heavy obviously, since it's a show and not a movie, but Promare has many direct references to Gurren Lagann and if you like Promare you WILL like Gurren Lagann! 

The minds behind Promare can be traced directly back to Gurren Lagann. Just about anything Promare does well, you can probably find it done better or more fleshed out in Gurren Lagann. Galo, quite frankly, is an pale intimidation of Kamina from Gurren Lagann as well. 

It is written by the same person. It has a Kamina from Gurren Lagann which is one of top animes. It almost has the same universal level of destruction.  

If you liked the beyond over the top, bizarre action and pacing of either, you'll find yourself right at home with the other. They both go all in on the wild side of the story that escalates at an outrageously high rate. Yet despite the ridiculousness, they find a way to draw in morals in a relatable way. Morals such as: * Don't let anyone tell you what you can't do. * Believe in yourself, and if you can't believe in yourself, believe in those who believe in you. * Don't let the status quo tie you down, especially if the status quo is flat out unacceptable. * Don't let your friends fall into a downward spiral of their stupid mistakes. Even if it means throwing hands. * Be determined, but don't be alone. They demonstrate the essence of manning up to the situation. So if you want to see how characters grow a pair and square up against all odds, both of these anime have that much in common. read more

Promare is the 1:40h version of Tengen Toppa and overflows a spectacular animation throughout the entire movie (something that Trigger knows how to do very well), highly recommended. 

Promare is an absolute love letter to Gainax and Trigger shows such as Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill 

Promare makes heavy use of classic Gainax tropes, story elements and character stereotypes. The influence of Gurren Lagann is the strongest, Kill la Kill and Panty & Stocking are visible as well. 

Made by the majority of the same core staff, the movie is just as over the top and crazy as Gurren Lagann. Promare shares a similar art style and it's action sequences can be just as thrilling. Despite lacking Gurren Lagann's maturity in it's themes, the film has more than enough similarities to make for a great recommendation. 

Promare gives Gurren laggan vibes as both studios are somewhat related and also the Mc of promare looks a lot like Kamina(also acts like him too). Both use mechs to battle it out and at a great spectacle to watch. 

Same people behind it. Similar protagonist looks, ending of Promare pays homage to TTGL.  

Just increasing the number, too much similarity to tell. 

Promare feels like the spiritual successor to Gurren Lagann. Heck, Galo is basically a copy/paste of Kamina, down to the blue hair. And by no means is that a bad thing. The breath-taking animation, incredible action scenes and dazzling declarations of manliness... All the staples of Studio Trigger's magnum opus are here. The only slight against it is that given it's a movie, the story isn't as well-developed and pretty predictable. Still, if you turn off your brain and just enjoy the spectacle, there is absolutely something for you here. 

Fun, colorful, over-the-top animation with absurd yet entertaining storylines 

similar art style and similar sci-fi stuff :> 

First of all, both are original anime made by studio Trigger and directed by the same directors. There are similar artistic choices and the same level of action. The villains of both entries have a very similar feel to them. 

Flashy over-the-top action from the same director and animation studio that's bound to keep you entertained. Neither anime takes itself too seriously and often likes to poke fun at other anime from the same genre. 

Promare and Kill la Kill are both animated by studio Trigger! They have similar art styles that allow for beautiful animation and the fight scenes in both are fantastic :) while the plots are considerably different, both are enjoyable to watch (though klk is definitely for more adult audiences) and give off similar vibes imo! 

High octane action that kicks off right from the start of the anime. Although the narratives of each of the two aren't anything special, the stylized action and over-the-top everything is sure to deliver any viewer a thrilling adrenaline rush. 

Both are insane and over the top, made by the same studio, And remind you of each other within the first minute while still beeing distinct enough to not feel like a reskin 

Both good OST made by Hiroyuki Sawano, same people behind TTGL and Kill la Kill 

A lot of the characters are direct references with similar personalities. It has tons of sakuga by the same studio, and also has fast-paced action. A good time for sure! 

Another great job by Trigger studios, great story and the same awe-inspiring battle animations that make Kill la Kill so good.

Both are anime about a team fire fighters fighting fires and strange fire creatures. Both came out in 2019. Atsushi Ohkubo (Creator of fire force ) even said his idea was stolen from the staff of Promare.  

Spontaneous human combustion becomes a common occurence, transforming people into demons who wreak havoc in town, and now a especialized group of fire-fighters has to fight against them. Both have really good animation. 

Promare is more or less Fire Force but: - Infernals are called Burnish, basically Infernals but with a human side - Mecha is a replacement for firefighters to fight with, instead of using fire 

Very similar universes with a few minor differences. Both are also visually outstanding. 

Both anime are strongly focused on Fire brigade as daily life activity, teamwork, and investigating Burned-human phenomenon. Both main characters have unlimited fight spirits. The different is base of power used to fight villains, Promare wears mecha power and Fire force uses a gift called pyrokinetics. Both anime antagonists are powerful too. What the important point is both anime shows epic fights (at this point my opinion is promare > fire force) and sure, there's a bit fanservice included. 

Fighting for equality. BNA and Promare have a similar MC, Lio and Michiru, who wishes for a change in society due to oppression. In BNA, despite being previously human, Michiru wishes to help the beastman of Anima City in hopes that humans and beastman could get along as different races with mutual respect. Likewise, with Promare, Lio is being oppressed due to him existing as a burnish which calls for him to fight against the human oppressors, though Lio gives off more extreme methods for the burnishes prosperity. With both anime are made by the studio Trigger. Action and Trigger's unique animation will be present in both stories. read more 

Promare (movie) and BNA (series) are both original productions by Studio Trigger, featuring their unique art style and character design, as well as superb soundtracks (although the people behind the soundtracks aren't the same). Both stories portray social discrimination - in BNA it's about humans and "Beastmen" (people who can swap between a human and an animal-like form) opposing each other, in Promare it's about humans and "Burnish" (people who gained fire abilities after random mutation) opposing each other. The main characters in both plots (Michiru from BNA / Galo and Lio from Promare) also both fight for equality, justice and acceptance. As said above, both productions feature a unique art style with unique character designs and simply great soundtracks. In case you watch one of these, make sure to check out the other! read more 

Another relatively new trigger title that features amazing animation, engaging sound design, and a lovable cast. BNA also shares many themes with Promare and also Kill la Kill including class separation, racism, feminism, and self-searching.  

they have pretty much the same plot just slightly different. mc (michiru and galo) spend the duration of the show/movie understanding a marginalized group better from an outsiders perspective, and a member of the community they meet along the way (shirou and lio) are trying to protect their oppressed people from heavy handed opposition and an un accepting society.  

Pretty similar character design and animations with lots of action! Both stand out with their music! Just fun to watch.. ENJOY!!! 

Obviously both is by the studio Trigger, so there is some similarity in script writing screenplay and art style. Both anime are about cool mecha, and technologically advanced themed things play a big part. If your like me, who enjoys robots and the neon looking artstyle, i definately reccomend. :) 

Both are mecha themed stories with quite a bit of action in them also both share the same voice leads too apparently. 

Rebel against oppression. Code Geass and Promare are similar in that they both have characters who wish for the equality of all, despite differences among them. Code Geass has Lelouch, who becomes Zero and creates the Black Knights in hopes to defeat Britannia and their oppression. Promare has Leo, leader of the Mad Burnish fight against the government that oppresses Burnish. Both are great action-mecha anime with visual pleasing fights through most of their durations. 

Both anime share qualities, like great animation and stunning colour pallets, bromance (with a capital R) and are surprisingly wholesome. (They each have a Kamina-esque character too). If you enjoyed the colourful and fun aspects of Promare, then Sk8 is the new anime for you. 

Main male protagonists are idealistic and considered to be ‘in over their head’ about the heroic work they do. Kotetsu has traditional values as an older hero whereas Galo is considered to be a boisterous, naive rookie in his fire squadron. Their idol, in the form of a reputable authority figure, is shattered when they directly betray their trust by crossing an ethical boundary. This is in contrast to the other individual in the prominent duo (Barnaby and Lio respectively), who are more realistic (with a cold facade) as a result of tragedy. Interestingly, the overarching villain hypocritically embodies what they despise. And finally, some of the comedy is based on satirizing action and superhero tropes (though ‘Promare’ is far more tongue-in-cheek). read more 

I guess this is the closest thing to a new Dead Leaves that has come out in recent memory. At least in terms of intensity and visual style.
