Both feature seemingly mild-mannered main characters with death metal alter-egos (complete with hardcore forehead tattoo) getting to comedic situations and trying to cope with life. The difference is Aggressive Retsuko's heavy metal side is internal and usually hidden while DMC's hardcore alter ego is literally an idol.

Both cute, short and sweet anime series that will cleanse your palate after watching heavy shows, like Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress or D. Gray Man Hallow.

Both anime are about a working girl dealing with work-related issues. The two protagonists have a specific persona that only activates in a situation of stress. Also, both shows have a little bit of romance and friendship.

Both are workplace comedy/slice of life series. However, Aggretsuko has more comedic elements and focuses more on workplace dynamics and issues that come up when you're in your mid twenties.

They are both short, episodic anime that tell a story about a person working in a corporate environment and dealing with the people around them. Often times, they get into unlucky situations.

Both shows are Sanrio brand series that focus on animals and music. The two shows also have a mixed focus on both comedy and the life around the characters. There is also some metal styles in Show By Rock!! although it is more limited to the side bands rather than more up front and center like with Retsuko. They both can also contain a good amount of cutes, as to be expected from a Sanrio series.
