Both series have characters with magical powers. Both series have the main characters going to school who are not involved in the conflict between mages. (Shirou / Madoka) Both series show situations where the population is in danger due to the presence of unknown and mysterious enemies. Both series show at the end of very intense and epic battles ..

I think both animes really bring more to Japanese animation. NGE is until today known for its very good animation at the time (1995) Similarly, currently Unlimited Blade Works has an impressive animation: clever use of CGI in the fighting and the settings. If you look at the animation as an art, I think you'll be very pleased to Unlimited Blade Works. (Serie who received the award for the best animated series in the Newtype Awards 2015 http://myanimelist.net/news/42586194) Some aspects of FSN remind me of NGE as the presence of a main character neophyte (Shirou / Shinji) in the field (magic / EVA) and the presence of many  read more

Both animes have a similar atmosphere because it is two stories set in the same universe. Both animes are adapted from works written by Kinoko Nasu. Both animes were made by ufotable. The chara design are very similar. Both series include epic battles involving among other magicians and beings with supernatural abilities.

First of all they both have a similar plot in that both are centered around servival of the best. They both revolve around the characters reciving aid from an ally that is more powerful then themselves.(fate zero is reserected magical super spirit people while beatless is androids with hyber andvanced ai and abilities) they both have a very interesting cast that all have their own objectives and desires out of these events. finally they both have many different interesting and changing relations between each character (for fate both spirits and humans, for beatless both android and human)

Both shows deconstruct the concept of what it means to be a hero. Another thing they have in common is that they are darker than their previous counterpart series with better visuals, soundtrack, and artwork.

Both series have supernatural and magical elements as well as humans who use fictional beings to achieve their objective but at the same time form bonds with them as well in an urban city like setting. When it comes to battles, both shows have a battle royale style in the city. Legends and myth both play a huge role as well uncovering huge secrets that will shock the viewers. Not to mention I happen to stumble upon some character similarities: Yugi-Shirou Yami Yugi-Archer Kaiba-Gilgamesh and Kirei Jonouchi-Shinji Matou Mai-Rin Tohsaka and Saber

These anime can be similar because of the goal of the main characters. Let me explain. Both Emiya (fate) and Eren (Shingeki) developped some kind of power to overcome an extremely powerful opponent. Both of them have to fight for their lives and for the lives of those they care. In the end, both of them make a huge difference in their respective way. I highly recommend both of these anime as mush as the entire Fate series although fate zero can take some time to give us some good figthing scenes.
