Both portray love and friendship and have lovely characters

The portrayal of the not your average shoujo story, following unique relationships and a slew of comedic moments tie these two series together.

Different plots and characters but these anime have a really sweet heroine who tries her best in everything she does to show her feelings and the best friend of the hero which is a very good-looking popular guy but with a soft side. Comedy is always present and the romance in which there are always misunderstandings mostly because the hero is very dense. If you enjoy one you will probably enjoy the other.

Both anime are romantic comedies. Both have a similar overall feel, are light-hearted, funny and cute.

Golden Time and Ore Monogatari both focus on aspects of being in a relationship rather than just the build up to one. The main couples of both series end up together within the first handful of episodes. While the tone can be different between them, each has their own moments of comedy, drama, and of course sheer adorable romance~ <3

Both have awesome MC, Harima and Takeo, it's nearly impossible to not like them. I rarely enjoy rom-com but for some reason I like both series because : they are funny, characters are lovable and some heartwarming scenes here and there.

Cuteness overload if you still want to keep dying from that here. Though it's short and only ONA but it's worth it. Two main characters being cute and stuff. I try my best not to spoil so I can't say much *flails*

Because they are both wholesome, light-hearted, romantic comedies with similar premise and mood. If you know of rom-coms, you then know of the general formula. A (sometimes unlikely) couple usually get together by the end, after a bunch of hijinks, while also overcoming melodrama and finally confessing. These two shows, however, put their own interesting twist in the rom-com tradition, in that the main couple actually get into a relationship very early on. 'My Love Story!' and 'Tonikaku Kawaii' are just that; anime about the lives of a dating/married couple, with a relaxing and comedic tone. Very little drama present in these shows and in  read more

Both shows are romantic comedies with male main characters who happen to look 'different' and a bit scary. They also have a love interest, a cute girl. Both stories have lots of situational comedy. Main characters are quite likeable and resemble each other. Toradora has a bit more drive and story, while Ore Monogatari!! has lots of awkward funny romance

Both are saccharine early teen romances dealing with a first love. The overall tone and vibe of the shows are similar.

Well, the graphics. This guy Makoto is very alike to Taichi, Yamato reminds me of Chihaya (the fact that both are very beautiful/cute and they both are kind). I personally liked the both and I think you will too. The main story is quite different but both are very heartwarming stories focuses around friendship and love.

- Both male character have bigger body than average people - Full of Comedy and Romance

Shoujo from male character perspective. Setting is maybe not exactly the same, but feeling is pretty the same. Both series are really funny. Nijiiro Days is focused on more characters/couples, when Ore Monogatari!! is focused almost only on relationship of main couple..

Both animes have romance in it and they are also past on school years. "Ore Monogatari" has more comedy but they are both really enjoyable, and they have a good animation wich is a thing that I think is really important when it comes to enjoy the anime even more. The story´s are diferent and I would say that "Ao Haru Ride" has a more complex story since it´s also tagged with the genre slice of life and "Ore Monogatari" is not. The main male character of "Ao Haru Ride" gives you the same kind of feeling that male main Makoto Sunakawa from "Ore Monogatari" gives to you.

First impressions can make a difference. Falling in love for the first time. Two unlike people fell in love with each other. One has multiple love stories. The other the best bro helps the couple get together.
report Recommended by AnimeFan500
Both main guys very adorably experience intense internal joy upon every interaction with the main gal. Both are extremely wholesome and heartwarming romances.

Wholesome non-toxic romance! People dating from the start of the show! Actually talking through problems! No manipulative nonsense! Humour not based around cruelly making fun of people! Healthy friendships as well as romantic relationships! Wholesome shoujo rom-coms light on the melodrama are not easy to find.

Similar bromance between the main male characters. Great comedy, a colourful range of moods and lots of drama.

If you want to see more of the Judo arc, I recommend this anime because it was made by the same Anime studio Madhouse, and Gouda looks very similar to Hanazono.

While not a romance anime (unless you're into shipping) New Game! gave me that same happy care free feeling I got from watching Ore Monogatari!!
report Recommended by Reldawin
If you want to see more of the Patisserie arc, I also recommended this anime, they have a similar goal to win the Grand Prix, it has cute aesthetics, very cute desserts where you really want to eat it, and be surrounded by pretty boys, and dabbled in fairies called "sweet spirits"

Ah, normal life! School, boys and adolescence. And romance! Oh! Life can be lived in different ways. It can be as upbeat and wacky as in Ore Monogatari, or contain more melancholy and drama as in Bokura ga Ita. In either case, there will be a lot of feelings. Rather than being exceedingly similar in their atmospheres, these two works complement one another, so that multiple sides of the thing called "romance" may be observed. Ah, normal life!

Both are good romance anime. Worth watching. You will be in a roller coaster of emotions. Try it. You will not be disappointed

Amagami SS shows couples being happy together with no random BS keeping them apart.

They're both just so sweet. Ore Monogatari is basically Saiki K with the roles reversed. Suna is way too similar to Saiki and Takeo to Nendo. The two anime are both hilarious, they both follow an episodic way of story telling, but Saiki is more focused on the daily and funny lives of Kusuo and his friends while Ore Monogatari is just a sweet ol' fluffy romance show.

- Both are comedy, romance shoujo in which it is very amusing to see the development of the couple. - Although the protagonists are totally different being Takumi beautiful, integral, talented and loved by all the girls and Takeo being popular with the boys but not with the girls because of his appearance, not very intelligent, impulsive and always puts the happiness of others above his, both protagonists always try to do everything for his beloved girl.

Although Barakamon is not a love story but both is very cute, funny and have a happy feeling as you watch them. If you liked Ore Monogatari i think you will love Barakamon too!
report Recommended by KissDorka
My first thought when I watched Ore Monogatari was that it was a "happy" anime: it has a plot but it's mostly episodic, the main characters are incredibly nice people and seeing their interactions and struggles was as heartwarming as you can imagine. Well, that "happy" feeling was all over me again during every episode of Gakuen Babysitters: it does things a little differently, focusing more on family rather than a romantic relationship, but it was all there: a heartfelt warmth that could made me forget anything negative going around my head.

If you loved the sweet romance and relationship antics of Horimiya, you'll love My Love Story!! Super wholesome!

the comedy that two anime series gives you it's fantastic, for sure the main characters are not the same at all but they give you the same vibe, If you have watched one of them then you know which vibe I'm speaking about. Do you need to watch that show? for me, the answer is clearly 'yes!

Both make your heart melt.

Romance that develops in a relationship quite early. Stories of success in life and relationships. Romcoms about overcoming problems with the support of your partner, friends and sometimes relatives rather than focusing mostly on melodrama.

SOL in both, with the overarching theme of love in an organic form.

Love is not just about looks and ages for both of them

Both are shoujo romance anime that are very cute and light hearted. They keep away from drama a lot of the time. Both anime have the main couple (or in Age 12's case, couples) get together very early on in the show so that the anime can focus on the relationship of the newly formed couples. Both anime deal with the feelings of being in a relationship for the first time and it's very quirky and adorable. The couples get nervous and flustered over the slightest things. The couples in both Ore Monogatari and Age 12 are madly in love with eachother but are quite  read more

Both animes are cute drama-less romance and friendship stories. There are no rivals, humiliation and other problems, popular with shoujo. Both stories are warm and fuzzy and, despite different art style, very cute. Bromance and friendship are important for both plots. Acchi Kocchi revolves around a bigger group of friends, but doesn't peek too deep in their personalities. Ore Monogatari has just 3 leading characters and shows their relationships in more detail. I'd say Acchi Kocchi is 100% for both genders and Ore Monogatari is better suited for girls and guys, who like shoujo specifically.

Romantic comedies that do not follow your typical shoujo story lines. The character Makoto reminds me of Kyoya as they are both very popular "mysterious" bishounens.

Both animes have a similar ambiance. While watching Ore Monogatari I kept remembering Orange and it made me want to watch it again. Although one is more serious and one is more comedic, both are about high school friends trying to help one another, with romance and drama involved as well. I think if you enjoyed one of these you are likely to enjoy the other! Both have strong themes of friendship and empathy

While Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is more focused on music and drama and Ore Monogatari!! is a cute and light romance comedy, I feel the relationships between the characters are really similar in the two series. We have a main character who is not self-confident at all, and suddenly gets involved with a girl who he immediately falls in love with. However, because of their lack on self-confidence, they think that the girl has a crush on the main character's best friend, who is the popular handsome and cool boy. Other than that, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso and Ore Monogatari!! are really different, but if  read more

Without spoiling anything, let's just say these two anime are almost identical in how they play out. Very different male leads obviously, but everything else is bizarrely similar.

After watching Sakamichi no Apollon I couldn't help but be reminded of Ore Monogatari, they both are about youthful love and friendship, both anime take part in school, and they're both touching but can also be funny (although maybe Ore Monogatari is more on the funny side). But I think you will enjoy it if you have enjoyed Sakamichi no Apollon.

Both have a male protagonist who is discriminated against based on their appearance, though they are actually a nice person.

"One Week Friends" / "Isshuukan Friends." and "My Love Story!!" / "Ore Monogatari!!" are cute and sweet shows that involve the goofy male protagonist falling in love with a girl who happens to reciprocate his feelings. In addition, both series feature a best friend of the protagonist who is a likeable guy and is usually very calm and collected.

Ore Monogatari!! and One Piece both have the same kind of fun humour and stories. You get involved in the story and it's easy to get excited! While One Piece is a shounen adventure story, Ore Monogatari!! has a completely different set of genres; shoujo romance. It's not your typical shoujo romance, mind you, it's full of genuine comedy and good characters. So, if you're watching One Piece and craving a shoujo that doesn't feel like All Those Other Shoujo Animes™, try Ore Monogatari!! You'll be positively surprised! 8~D

If you really enjoy unconventional pairings then these two animes are for you! They both feature big, burly guys who are really softies at heart and a conventionally pretty girl who loves them. Ojisan to Marshmallow doesn't have much of a development in the love department, but does feature the main characters slowly understanding their feelings for one another.

-Hero and heroine have quite different characters -Funny love story -Nice art -Heroes are jealous of each other -Not realistic xD

Both are really cute RomComs. They're both funny and relatable at times. The plots aren't similar, but I feel the overall feel of the shows themselves is. Both shows focus on unusual pairings. (First recommendation, so sorry if it's a bit lacking!)

Both are slower-paced, more grounded shoujo anime with a lot of wholesome moments.

Both are really cheesy, but in a good way. I feel like they're both making fun of over the top cliches in anime. Definitely give it a try, it's hilarious.

It follows the same tropes of "Beauty and the Beast"

Both protagonists are not your typical shoujo boy love with peculiar abilities. They meet their love interest under unexpected circumstances; hilarity (and some kissing!) ensues.

Both main male MC's express themselves genuinely in a refreshing manner compared to other romcom's. Romio is best girl
