Kidou Senshi Gundam 00

Both anime are about small group of mecha pilots challanging major military powers in the world (rebels against the strongest empire on earth in CG and small elite group trying to change the world in MSG 00). Both also have super mecha and super pilots as their trump card 

Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 both fall under the mecha genre. Their plot is also similar - each series having a second season of 25 episodes each with more or less the same format. Both series have a very good story which keeps the watcher eager to know what's going to happen next. In both Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 there is romance - though this is more evident in Mobile Suit Gundam 00. In my opinion both have the ingredients that make a great series. 

Both shows feature a vigilante group (or in the case of Gundam, a world police more or less) which fights against governments in order to create a peaceful world. While Code Geass deals more with humanity issues, Gundam 00 focuses on the futility of war. It is also more mecha-centric than Code Geass and there is no lack of action in either series. 

Much like Code Geass Gundam 00 is focused on changing the world. Both animes contain mechs and lots of action as well as strategy. While in Code Geass the story focuses on Lelouch and his skills at millitary strategy Gundam 00 puts the focus on several primary characters one of which is a battle forecaster who plans Celestial beings strategies and actions. Both animes put a great amount of weight into the consequences of the actions characters take to change the world. I started Gundam 00 right after I finished Code Geass and immediatly recognized the similarities I think it is safe to say if you liked Code Geass you will probably like Gundam 00 as well. read more 

Indeed Code Geass and Gundam 00 are very similar and yet both masterpieces. They both have: • a terroristic group who plays the part of the "good guys" actually • Earth's big leaders (Emperor/Politicians) are both instead the antagonists • wonderfully planned war strategies • mechas, sci-fi • famous and very good skilled cast of seiyuus • both series have the same lasting of 25 episodes, with a second season having the same amount once again • and much more, that u'll find out while watching! The both players want to change the world, regardless of the methods. Both full of drama and suspense, both are dark. The art is very similar and beautiful. Both are mecha. 

Both are very similar in story. The main character wants to unite/change the world by fighting against those in control. The two stories also use mecha, which get more powerful as the story progresses.  

Both are about a secret organisation which fights for the world. Both use force and tactics, mechical machines, and are very exciting. When you like Code Geass, you'll like Gundam 00 too. You'll be dragged by a beautiful story and interesting characters. The art is a bit the same. A nice thing about those two animes is the desire to watch. I just wasn't able to stop before I finished season 1 and 2 from both animes. Like Code Geass, Gundam 00 is touching. It looks like an anime like Gundam or Geass is only about fighting and surviving, but it has cry scenes scattered everywhere. There are strong friendships, like Suzaku and Lelouch, and alike the four Gundam Meisters. Although Gundam isn't about much love or something like that. Gundam and Code Geass are both a big mystery and dark. Worth watching! read more 

It was made by the same people (Sunrise) and both are effectively the same plot: An attempt at creating a peaceful world. You may completely forget the differences between Knightmare Frames and Mobile Suits while watching. 

Both feature awesome futuristic mecha battles, both focus on the goals and aspirations of two revolutionary groups trying to change the world, and both show as the carefully laid plans of these groups fall apart and what happens after this. 

The way Celestial Being acted as peacekeepers and believing in absolute justice and the way they excecuted thier missions really reminded me of Code;Geass, also the heirachy of power.... is a thing to watch for ;D 

Both anime have similar main characters who vow to change the world for the better. Though both have good intentions it may take some evil methods to get to the end result. Both anime have similar animation aspects and close dialouge.  

"There was 3 superpowers in the world, until the came of 4th power where the protagonists side". Both shows started with that plot, where Code Geass is in alternative reality and Gundam 00 is in the far future of the world we reside in.. Both are great shows, there are a few similar feelings I get when watching them.. I think you will love the other if you love one, that is I believe, so I made this recommendation.. 

Mobile suit fights with a dark political background story. 

Both are mecha, action packed,political thriller.In both animes an organization tries to change the world while they are not very well supported by the mass people. 

Both of these shows contain enough mecha action to make any fans of the genre more than content, but mechs are not what define them. These shows carry heavy ideals and enriched characters which lead to plenty emotional connections to get you involved. The stories of each will keep you guessing to the end and finish you off wanting to relive it a few times more.  

Both shows a rebellion act of a certain group which stays as the protagonists of the story. There's no reason why you won't like this recommendation because the plot of the story is awesome as you go through further episodes (ofcourse both season 1 and 2 for both animes) Both main characters are special and the story involves mecha which they use high technology pilotable machines. 

Both of the shows have mechas although Code Geass is focused less on mecha and more on main character and his plans. They have similar feel and focus on wars and possible elimination of conflicts. There are characters in both show who have clever plans, although in CG one character dominates where Gundam feels like characters are bit more balanced when it comes to strategy. These shows try to keep you watching by ending episodes on cliffhanger. They also have kinda clunky transitions between seasons. 

Both are mecha animes. Also, they have similar resemblance in terms of art. They also both emphasize the effects of war. 

In 2007, these legends just like their predecessors from 95-96 revived the mecha dynasty which took quite the decade to do so. CG and 00 have qualities that live up to NGE and GW but in a much improved manner. CG dealt with morality, discrimination, intellect, politics, and tragedy to a whole new level something that NGE didn't reach regardless of the psychology, development, and religious motif. 00 took GW's politics to an international level while at the same time keeping it's realism and unlike freedom fighting, it focuses more on destroying military to end all wars. The two shows hasn't aged quite a bit up to date and live up as legends of Japan that hailed mecha as the greats. If you watched both, thumbs up or if not that you watched one or the other, give the other a shot. Now that sequels/AU are being in the works, I am looking forward more of these two to live up to the good old days again. read more

Both have mechs that are piloted by people. They have elements of political conflict and the balance of power. 

Both shows are "real-robot" and have similar themes, such as war being harmful for all people involved, even civilians. 

Not only are both of these mecha series about war and politics, but the characters and their designs are also similar. Same for main characters' determination to change the world according to their ideals. These two anime are made by the same studio as well. 

Similarities: - both made by studio Sunrise - have mecha, political, drama - touch upon terrorism - animation Differences: - 00 has a more mature tone in the way that CG is like shounen, 00 is more like seinen - 00 has better music, art style and more detailed animation - 00 has some tactical battles in it but less than CG 

After being impacted by war at a young age, the male protagonist grows up to pilot a mech as part of a revolutionary military group. The art style in Gundam 00 appears to be inspired by Code Geass,with the characters being drawn slim and tall, and with similar mecha designs. 

A group that is viewed as terrorists by the rest of the world (Black Knights in and Celestial Being) trying to change the world for the better. 

Main characters have similar backgrounds, and as result they are both pretty emotionless. Both series are mecha, and are about organizations fighting against terrorism. Also, Gundam 00's Innovators are somewhat similar to FMP's Whispered. 

they are both about young a kids who was originally from this arab looking country as members of a guerrilla team that took down mechas but then turned good and so became a mercenary and later he meets a person he knew when he was a guerrilla and has to fight him. the only difference is that one killed his own parents and the other didn't talk about them another difference is that one is mostly comedy and the other is mostly action. they both have to do with mechas and robots and having the most advanced weapon on their side. all in all they are amazing animes if you liked one you will like the other. read more 

Very similar story line the main character with and evil past trying to make the world better around him 

Mecha, action, guns, drama, and a little romance. Both these series are excellent science fiction anime with both protagonists having military experience. They show why they are in the military and doing what they do best. 

The plot is kinda the same, both group don't belong to the Army but they are fighting enemy for a better future......Mobile suit Gundam have more awesome fighting but Full metal panic are funnier. 

Mecha series both of which have a straight laced, no-nonsense Middle Eastern main character who used to be a child soldier and joins a secretive organization that fights for World peace.  

Both are mecha in which the earth is at war and the princes try to bring about peace.  

Aldnoah.Zero is basically Gundam. The concept is very much the same, space organization fighting against Earth, but in Aldnoah the roles are switched. Similarities: - Space organization have overpowered legendary Mechs while people on earth have regular mechs - Main characters are fighting to end the war - Political intrigue (not so much in aldnoah as in gundam) - Strategy heavy action

Both series contain the theme of sci fi and mecha warfare in a futuristic setting. Both series has great animation style as well as a well performed soundtrack mixed in with the action, drama, comedy, and later themes of romance. Both series also contain a variety of characters with various personalities. Both series also contain tragedy and more emotional drama later on in the series as plot holes and the story moves further. 

Epic space battles, good music and ofc mecha. Where Gundam 00 lack in romance " Setsuna and Marina two "spirits" divided by sky and earth " Macross Frontier will provide an unforgettable experience also thanks Yoko Kanno, May'n and Megumi Nakajima under stagenames Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee. 

Both are similar in a way that they have complex story line and mecha fights. They are both jampacked with action and political battle. Both their methods in aiming for peace is the same - that is to let the mass unite and throw the anger at them. It's like the main characters are the protagonists and at the same time antagonists. The artwork and animation are superb. The only difference is that R2 is a closure whereas 00 still has a sequel( Season 2). 

Both Gundam 00 and Code Geass R2 share a common storytelling interest in dramatically portraying how an attractive cast of young characters attempts to change the world through the use of terrorism and the two series deal with the consequences of these questionable actions. This leads to sudden shifts in loyalties, the rise of new enemies and the loss of innocent lives as well as unexpected revelations that will impact the audience's perspective and challenge their emotional investment. One key difference, however, is that Gundam 00 places more emphasis on showing the development of science fiction technology and its implications, especially those related to the concept of GN particles, while Code Geass R2 introduces a number of new mecha but doesn't really give much attention to the technological explanations. Another distinction concerns how much of Code Geass focuses on the picaresque adventures of a lone hero who constantly uses over-the-top tricks against his foes, given that the story is predominantly told from Lelouch's perspective, which contrasts with how Gundam 00 places more emphasis on the collective actions of the core members of Celestial Being as a unit rather than on Setsuna himself. In short, you might get more out of Code Geass R2 if you are interested in the prospect of showcasing a tale of personal melodrama with exciting twists and turns. If you want a story that relies on old-school mecha elements and with stronger parallels to real world politics, then Gundam 00 might be closer to your preferences.  read more 

In both series, there is the usage of mecha featuring action, drama, and comedy. These robots are used for military warfare commanded and controlled by those with experience in order to gain dominance in combat. Both series' main male protagonist have similar age range and a determination to accomplish their goals. There is also a distinctive OST in both series. The antagonists are also ruthless and kills without seemingly any remorse that puts the main protagonists at the edge of their lives. 

Both are mech series with a small armed faction against multiple large nations, 2 in the case of Valvrave and 3 for Gundam 00. Also both have great visuals and soundtrack, and are animated by the same studio. 

While they do not have the same premise, they present science fiction in a form that is appealing. The main male protagonist in both series are both mysterious but experienced in battle with a personality that seems to be more distant. There's usage of mecha and other space gadgets used by enemy forces as there seems to be rebellion/war/struggle between certain colonies/empires. The main male protagonist is involved in these struggles and experiences both states of peace and cruelty. There is drama, action, comedy, and a mysterious background related to the origins of both series. 

Being a part of the same franchise, you can obviously expect a degree of similarity within all Gundam titles. 00 bears most similarity to IBO so far as the characters both possess and are not objected to using the mobile suits right off the bat. some thematic similarities lies within the morality of war and the subject of child soldiers and their exploitation by various religious sects and corporations. the central groups are both militaristic, and respond and act appropriately as you'd expect of such a group, professionally, practically and efficiently.  

actually... its not VERY close to each other, but both are mecha anime. gurren lagann could have been targeted to 'younger viewers' as compared to gundam 00 (based on the degree of liveliness and typical shonen-ness :p), but tt doesnt mean its out of anyone's league. both are also set in the future... tho those futures are drastically different. battles are fought in space (much later in gurren lagann). characters are diverse, and there's the venture of 'peace' added in both too. 

These anime shows show very similar resemblances, These are characters that are the same, and i know i could have compared some more but you get the point they are pretty similar. Middling super robot shows loaded with pretension and melodrama. 

Both anime focus a lot on war and politics, and deal with similar themes. Both have idealistic characters who are trying to change the world, and they both contain epic battles. The main difference is the existence of mecha in Gundam, while LotGH doesn't have those. 

Specifically the storyline, actions that go against the government, orbital elevators, gundam like devices, GN drive (compac), memento mori (orange missiles), voice characters, overall feel :) 

Both talk about a indepennt organization who have the objective ending the conflicts in the world. Some characters are very similar. Setsuna and Sousuke are from Middle East and have difficults for have a normal life and Lockon and Kurtz are snipers and are dubbed by same person. Mecha Design are quite similar and Ganon/Sousuke relationship are much similar with setsuna/ali al saachez relationship. 

Both the shows features awesome mechs and pilots with a strong story revolving around some form of conflict. In Gundam 00 it's about Celestial Being against the world trying to bring an end to war through armed interventions. Whereas Gundam Seed pits Naturals against the Coordinators where both sides are trying to reign as the dominate sub-species of humanity. Although both shows execute their stories differently, ultimately they both aim for the same goal 'the end of war as a whole'. So if you're looking for something similar to Gundam 00, then Gundam Seed is one of your closest bets for experiencing it. I've heard many people say that Gundam 00 is the modern day Wing and they are rather similar, especially between Heero and Setsuna
