Imawa no Kuni no Alice

Both end up trapped in a game where they have to survive Both are very intense and have good action 

-Both are a great election if you have low time and you want to watch a fast action anime. -They are both centred on a group of people that must to play a survival game to live. 

Both stories are about a male MC who start to play willingly or not some very dangerous games that can cost them their lives.The male MCs are pretty clever and they usually outsmart their oponents.The side characters and villains are some obsessed or crazy in the head people. 

Both are action survival animes. Bloody and gory. People find themselves in an island and have to take part in a killing game to stay alive 

People forced to participate in a death game in a place isolated from the rest of the world. A lot of edgy characters, with a similar MC. Explosions are a major system in each game.  

Both are set in a battle-royale setting where lives are at stake. Both lose something/someone they love. There are also psychological themes and heavy usage of gore. 

The Characters enter another world and have to adapt to that world by playing the games to survive and eventually escape. 

Both main characters get sent to a place where they have to play a deadly game to survive. 

LIterally the same setting with main characters having to play numerous games of survival. only difference is that the main character have different personalities and also in gantz, the fighting is more physical whilst in Imawa no Kuni no Alice the survival aspect is done using thinking and solving puzzles though in both animes fighting and puzzle solving aspect are featured.  

Imawa no Kuni no Alice has people participate in a game where they are fighting for their life. Both have great action scenes and lots of mind breaking content. (Imawa no Kuni no Alice is incomplete so I'd suggest the manga instead.) 

These two animes present a similar plot where a group of friends finds themselves trapped in a certain place where they need to play and win the game to survive. Moreso, they need to apply strategies and critical thinking to gamble in every high-stakes game. The protagonists' trust in each other is tested in these animes.  

Both are about a group of friends trapped in a game. There is one main character(Arisu in Imawa no Kuni no Alice and Yuuichi in Tomodachi Game) who is pessimistic about their current life. But both of them are very smart and good at problem-solving, which leads them to a new stage of the game. 

To be honest, I reccomend the live action over the anime, its way better imo (for alice in borderland) both have people forced into survival games and lots of unique characters, and the characters go through a series of games and theres also mastermind(s) Both Yuuichi and Arisu want to destroy the "game" Arisu (borderland) isn't really a character like Yuuichi (tomodachi) 

The atmosphere, tone of both series is very similar. 

While both series involve characters struggling to survive in high-stakes situations, "Alice in Borderland" leans more into the thriller and psychological aspects of the survival game genre. It also explores themes of morality and the consequences of one's actions. "Darwin's Game" is more focused on the supernatural abilities granted by the game and the strategic battles that result from them. So, while they share a common genre, each series has its unique setting, style, and themes, making them distinct experiences for viewers. 

The characters are forced to play and stake their lives on a death game. Soon they realize that not everything is what it seems, even the rules explained to them in the beginning aren't all they should know and they find out that there are hidden rules that can help them win the game. The difference is that the characters in Death Parade are... well dead already. 

People forced to play death games. In both series you will see characters that are close to each other, betraying each other, playing dirty/revealing their true self, just to survive in the games. Two very similar series, shame they stopped airing Imawa no kuni no Alice midway  

People being transferred into an alternate reality without any reason whatsoever. An alternate reality where the only rule is to survive. With it having a premise of "Man vs Man vs Nature", essentially telling a story of how a bunch of high school student survives the horror by fighting and enduring the system (aka nature) while simultaneously fighting themselves. Watching these series felt like bliss, a satisfying feeling as some scenes uncover with an unexpected shock that no one could expect. So, if you're looking for a series that deals heavily with one's survival capabilities as they use their wits and knowledge, then you might want to check these two out. read more 

Both are about people who get thrown into a survival game where they have to win to survive. They are also both very enjoyable and will leave you thinking hard after finishing either of them

Both have to play games to stay alive, and forced to go there and both are trying to protect those around them.

Are you ready to find yourself somewhere you've never been before abandoning your true self, having lack of memory and being both a hunter and a prey at the same time? With Imawa no Kuni no Alice being with a lot darker conception behind, Grimgar sure has a lot of similarities to it and potential for a good survival themed series and a good storyline
