-both are unsatisfied with current world -both get transported into magical worlds -both have a determined-to-beat-you antagonist -cool fight scenes both of them can get cliche/over dramatic

The main characters from both anime are transported to another world. Both have a trouble past. He gains the ability to use "Divine" weapon that only a few can use. There is some conflict in this world and he and his group must stop it.

Yuuri was a normal high school student until he is transported to another world after an unpleasant encounter with some bullies and water. Arata wanted to disappear after feeling down while Yuuri did not, but they were both in for a surprise. Yuuri is an easy to like character, his personality makes Kyo kara Maou! a fun and exciting adventure to watch! Arata is a character with whom one may be able to relate to because we all feel like that at times and/or have had similar problems.

Same series written by Yuu Watase. Similar themes and art.

The worlds that the main protagonist ends up in both worlds are far from the modern worlds they come from, yet the conflict revolves around the main protagonist and they find themselves needing to gain power to solve the problem.

It's been a long time since I watched Arata kangatari but after starting Akame ga Kill! I felt a little nostalgic because these two animes have a very similar feel. The main is an otherwise innocent and rather clueless boy who gets dragged into "another world" where he's forced to fight and collect a form of weapon. In both animes, the weapons being collected are selective of their users, have unique sets of abilities, and uncovering them is a fun adventure for the viewer.

Both characters are similar. In both anime, there are a character that, at the beginning, were on the bad side, but then that character becomes good.

In both series, a normal boy ends up stuck in another world. MCs face a lot of trouble and have a hard time fitting in. There are magic/mythical creatures. MCs are forced to fight for their lives.

These shows are shounen, have a spirit-infused sword wielding hero who starts out scared but develops into a courageous character, and both have a similar setting. The female leads in both these shows are quite strong-willed. Don't be scared away by the description, Arata Kangatari is an enjoyable watch and picks up pace quite early on.

- Both are "From Another World" type of plots. - Both main characters have mysterious powers. - Tad bits of romance in each. - Main character isn't completely overpowered from the start, but gets gradually stronger. - Inner conflicts, epic fights! - Last but not least- a main girl who's hot.

Both series have a "chosen one" as the protagonist and evil leaders as their enemies, who seek him to kill him. They also coincide in showing the protagonist's journey, with his fights, personal improvement and adventures, in which he will find allies and enemies.

-underrated isekais without much fan service -main characters are boring guys in uniforms -have psychotic rivals

The protagonists end up in a mystical world, have "another self" still in the real world that tries to work together through limited contact. The protagonist is a normal person in the real world, but is special in the other. The protagonist is enlisted to help some super important woman and has a female sidekick.

The relation between Hinohara/Kadowaki are very similar to Haru/Rin. Both rivals in a sporting competition. In Free: Haru understood Rin's situation. In Arata: Hinohara's action caused Kadowaki's predicament. His action had a negative affect and now their friendship is on the line.

They both have 12 different nations where each one is ruled by a king who is extremely powerful and where both of the Main characters enter a world completely different as they try to figure out where they stand in this strange world.

This anime is not very popular but it should be. It is also a drama, fantasy, mysticism and about a friendship.

Both anime series spirit the main protagonist in a fantasy world and both characters receive magical powers.

Both are fantasy-based stories, exploring the similar theme of a young boy traveling through various locations with the goal to retrieve and collect items that will save the princess & the world.

In this anime, there are also two worlds. One is modern Japan and the other is a fantasy land. And another similiarity is that as in No Game No Life, Arata Kangatari also has an adventure in it. When in No Game No Life they conqure lands, in arata Kangatari the main protagonist has to fight various strong opponent to regain peace. A difference between these two animes is that when No Game No Life doesn't have any fighting in it, the main character in Arata Kangatari has to fight quite a lot.

In both, the main character, a high school student from the modern world, is thrown into a past fantasy-like era.
