Gantz and Red Garden have very similar plots albeit a little more different, They both feature peope who have died and are given another chance to live if they defeat certain monsters. However, if they die, they die forever.

Both shows have a primarily female cast. The main characters are forced (more-so in Red Garden) to fight beasts/witches, and if they give up they die. Characters don't fully understand the situation they're in for most of the series. They're both pretty dark series, and there are definitely some more similarities.

TMGK and Red Garden are both series about a happy go lucky group of high schoolers who find themselves in an unusual situation and become unlikely friends (teammates?). They both have creepy settings and both episodic and series long stories. Although I wasn't a fan of Red Garden, I think others who enjoyed TMGK may enjoy the dead girls of Red Garden as well!

Death is ever present in both of these anime. It's a main theme and kinda makes you have to realize tht death is an every day thing. Both show the consequences of death on the minds of people ...

Both of these anime are distant from more common japanese etnocentrism - meaning they are set in America and have zero to none japanese characters, except for that, both are relatively mature mystery shows and in both main character/s realise that they are different than other people and show how they deal with it but also how it changes their relations with other people. If you liked either one of these shows you will most likely enjoy other.

Aside from the animation, the level of eerieness (which isn't saying much) and pacing are pretty much the same~ That and the fact that their dark plots had potential but could have been better if it wasn't executed in such a toned down way...but that's to be expected since it is a PG rated show~ If these were to have reboots, I'm sure the improvement in animation would really contribute to their overall feel

As far as these two anime series goes, Darker than Black and Red Garden has a dark atmosphere to them involving a small cast of characters. Among these characters, they possesses supernatural abilities that can be dangerous to society. At the same time, there's a mysterious like atmosphere relating to their origins as well as the story as a whole. There's action and characterization in both series. However, more character interactions are explored in Red Garden as we get to see more in depth of their every day lives. At the same time, mystery becomes a prominent theme in both series as the characters learns about  read more

A Breakfast Club-esque group of teens from vastly different cliques are kidnapped by a shady organization, experimented on, and told that they must work together to complete several bizarre missions or they will all die. Both are anime-original shows that feature the writing prowess of Mari Okada and about as much teenage angst and melodrama as you could hope for. Both also have strong, unique senses of style with striking character designs and fluid animation. Red Garden focuses on its female protagonists and is more serious and grounded, whereas Kiznaiver has a male lead and is much sillier, but while their tones differ their central  read more

A group of four high school students with opposite personalities each one has to team up against their will, and it shows how their lives change because of it. Both has parts where the characters sing, too.

Both have relationship drama alongside action/supernatural elements. High school girls are thrown into a supernatural world and must learn how to cope with their newfound responsibilities. The supernatural stuff is used as a stimulus for the drama, which is pretty well written in both shows, even if they do rely on well-worn dramatic tropes like the negligent father.

If I had this say, the male character in Wolf's Rain are in a way similar to the female characters in Red Garden.

main characters are pushed into violence and horror as other parties use these characters for their own interests

The protagonists of both series have supernatural powers (in Day Break Illusion, they're magical girls, and in Red Garden, they died and were resurrected) they use to kill human beings that have transformed into monsters. They are also ordered about by a shadowy organization they know little about, and sometimes they try to rebel, and both series explore the emotional toll of their battles. The girls of Day Break Illusion attend a secret school and are guided by adult Elemental Tarot users, but the girls of Red Garden don't have that kind of support as they try to pretend to lead normal lives  read more

Notable Similarities 1) Tone: Ristorante Paradiso and Red Garden have a similar relaxed mood that is felt as soon as the opening credits and then carries on throughout. A realistic style of art is shared, which helps set the tone of the series, as well. There no crazy-looking eyes that take up half of the face or exaggerated emotions. 2) Location: Red Garden and Ristorante Paradiso are both set in real and popular cities--Ristorante Paradiso in Rome, and Red Garden in New York City. Notable Differences 1) Age and gender: The characters in Ristorante Paradiso are all adults and mostly male, while Red Garden's main  read more

Both have a strong point in showing the relationships between protagonists and the others. Almost all their actions in daily life it seems natural and credible. Girls are well-designed. They having clearly characters and also are drew as a cute, but not typical beauty.

While Baccano is more lighthearted, and Red Garden has more drama: They give a similar sort of feel (YMMV). Maybe it could be called rather artsy? (If you could call Baccano artsy at all). The rather deceptive mood that yo-yos back and forth between a lighthearted piece (for that: Baccano has the comedy, Red Garden has the slice-of-life) and a dark and melancholy blood fest...Though Baccano can sometimes managed both at the same time. +both have NYC as a major setting/Guns & Roses heavily reminds me of Jolly Jolly/both have smiliar-sounding jazz-styled BGM Oh, and thar be lots of "Hey I'm back from the dead."

Story wise, these two shows are very different, but their art style and character design are very similar; and both feature great fashion design.

Very similar art style. Very similar character interactions (ie the way the chars argue). Not to mention the singing. Yes, there is singing in Kure-nai as well.

In bouth:Gilgamsh and Red Garden the first episodes makes you think that you don't understand anything. The mistery and drama are bouth well made and the only thing that you are thinking is: God I want to see the next episodes fast so I can understand what's going on. The romance part is more intens in Gilgamesh but in bouth romance is just a second gener observ afther the others.(drama, horror, mistery etc.) The charachters are complex and they develop fast. They fight for their lifes, they don't have the time to tink if wath they do is the good thing or the bad thing, the  read more

Both can be considered a "serious" version of the magical girl genre The Tvversion es more drama/ character interaction oriented like the second part of shamanic princess

Both involve something happening to people's bodies after they die.

In both series the main characters are typical school girls that after some extrange events, are forced to fight against human like monsters. Also at first the plot seems obvious and clear, but as the plot goes on, the history keeps getting more twisted and confusing.
