#1 - Louise the Zero

Zero no Louise (ゼロのルイズ)

Edit
Aired: Jul 3, 2006(JST)

Synopsis

The story begins in a magical world called Halkeginia. We are introduced to Tristain Academy, where we follow Louise Vallière as she heads to class. Her teacher asks her to perform magic: to change pebbles into brass. As she walks up to the table, her peers whisper the name "Zero", and as soon as she casts the spell, the room explodes. Despite being from a famous magician family, Louise has never been able to successfully cast a single spell. On the day of the familiar spiritual summoning, Kirche summons a fire salamander. Guiche summons Verdandi, a large mole. Last, Louise summons a human being, Saito Hiraga, an ordinary boy from Tokyo, Japan who does not understand what is going on in Louise's world since they speak different languages. Louise wants a re-do, but cannot break the ritual's tradition, so she makes a contract with Saito by kissing him on the lips. Runes appear on Saito's left hand. Later, Louise tries to shut him up by performing a silence spell which backfires and allows Saito to speak and to understand Louise's language instead. Saito is not sure about his situation until he sees the two moons in the sky and realizes he is in another world.
