Similarities: - both are OVA music videos; - both contain two bishonen boys; - both are based on a manga series Differences: - Cipher is a one long montage, while Bronze contains five music videos with the same characters in different settings; - Cipher is more cheery and casual, Bronze on the other hand is filled with angst, symbolism and heavy atmosphere; - Cipher is in english, Bronze is in japanese Normally I wouldn't recommend anything from Bronze series, but since people are dropping titles that are somehow connected with music (and some people are looking for this type of stuff) , I figured that I'd just leave it here. Have fun!  read more

Both are AMV's with some story with the difference being Intertsella5555's music is on a album while Cipher's is random 80's music from America

These shows have no storyline to speak of, equally awful English dubs, and will leave you feeling stupefied, forsaken, dizzy, speechless and brain-dead all at once. Why was this ever created? Who saw this and decided that this is what Americans were missing in their lives? Is it part of some MST3K-style plot to take over the world using terrible anime? We'll never know, so we might as well just enjoy the ride. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Both anime are amazing "so bad it's good" anime that will leave you absolutely baffled by some of the absurd shit that happens. In the case of Chargeman Ken, this is a result of poor production quality, while Cipher's enjoyability comes from the laughable voice acting and absence of any discernable plot, (it's more like a montage of music video adaptations of manga scenes) but they both provide an equal amount of enjoyment of you want to just sit back and laugh at something.

Two highly compressed shoujo OVAs from the late 80s / Early 90s that will leave you feeling... confusedn at best. They do have a banger soundtrack at least.

Both are older OVAs themed around music, with limited dialogue in favour of playing songs of the time.

Two OVAs mostly spoken in English who are the peak of 80's aesthetics. Really, they're possibly the ultimate vaporwave anime you could ever see.

Both are impossible to describe without showing them.

Both are titles that you have to see to believe, and both are notable for their one-time performances by many of the cast

Without a doubt this 2 are the same. Do you want more anime where there is little dialogue and the animated scenes are accompanied with music from the 80s-90s? Then you found the right place. It's surprising how many anime like this exist. Also the artstyle has that shoujo feel from those years. So give it a shot if you want something really different from what is offered today.

Pastel colors, music montages, and ambiguous plots make these two 80's soul mates. Although, Bobby's in Deep isn't nearly as "enjoyable".

So do you want an acid trip the 1980s? Do you want to watch an anime with 80s music? and do you want to watch some animation with that 80s music and without any clue what is going on? Go no further than this. I thought Cipher The Video was unique but Purple Eyes is the perfect complement if you desire more anime like this.

Two musical OVA from the 80's that give off a similar sensation of 80's nostalgia.

so bad theyre amazing. same kind of stunning incompetence, same kind of hilarity. i thoroughly enjoyed both of them, although cipher is somehow way worse.

Both are 80's style OVAs centered around blonde, bishie main characters and their struggle to find their place in the grand scheme of things. Both series have masterful and memorable OST and boast an unforgettable cast.

Both have a very artsy teen movie feel to it, were made and set in the everydays of the 80's and are also just as bewildering to watch
