In this special Naruto OVA, sparks fly. Literally.

In the special, Tsunade decides to hold this competition where Jonin must fight genin. Which seems kinda unfair, but whatever.

I was very annoyed at how it was handled. This OVA hinted at many things: That we would see some sweet Gaara action, that we would see Neji VS Asuma, that we would see Naruto and Sasuke team up against Kakashi. But this OVA didn't deliver. Every time something exciting happened, the scene would switch. WTH? And the endong ends in a total cliffhanger! Man!

This OVA isn't that good, so only fans of Naruto should even consider watching.

I am a diehard naruto fan, and this is the worst naruto i have ever watched, not only was the story pathetic there was absolutly no plot and at the end naruto hints that this has all been a COMMERCIAL for some naruto game. even if you enjoy naruto i would suggest just skipping this eppisode altogether.

This OVA has been made as a extra for the naruto ultimate ninja 3 game, so of course it don't have a plot, the rest you have to play it. If you watch this OVA and then play the game, then you will say that its a great job, the game its like an RPG and fight game put together. About the OVA, well its an OVA, those who say that it dont have a plot, it dont go across the main story, well... you should think about what you say, and learn what an OVA is, if not, then dont even care in whatching

I was really disappointed with this and regret wasting time watching it EVEN-THOUGH i am a die-hard fan of Naruto- if you can, then i would recommend that you seclude this from your pile of "to watch" and divert it into your pile of not to watch unless your one of the most hardcore naruto freaks who have to watch it whilst knowing that it will be placed forth at an (overall) appallingly disgraceful standard of naruto anime.

This is good for the ones that play Naruto games. Specially the one that this OVA belongs.

It's definitly an OVA for diehard fans. It's good if you're the type that likes everything about Naruto.

I enjoyed quite a lot, it was entertaining.

It was all an unsensible mess until Naruto broke the fourth wall and made an announcement for some upcoming game (at the time). It's a lengthy commercial your favorite show, yay! No, not really. Konoha is holding a global event for every Ninja to participate in, every individual is given a crystal neckless, and tasked with keeping it intact and take over the others' in hope of staying in the competition that's rewarding as a prize to make any wish they won't come true. Naruto and Sasuke, of course, start getting competitive and all, and set Kakashi as their target, hence the “Jonin” in Naruto ...

This has such a cool premise and a very promising start. Unfortunately, it fails to live up to the hype. I think a large part of my disappointment has to do with my initial failure to properly understand the nature of this OVA. This is designed to help promote and set it up its accompanying video game. This means that to completely experience this OVA, you have to experience the game as well. It's meant to be a prologue and not a complete story. Once you understand this and manage your expectations accordingly, the OVA becomes an enjoyable little adventure that promises more to come. ...
