Run with the wind is an amazing show about 10 peoples journey to run in the Hakone Ekiden and the challenges & emotions they faced along the way
Story (8/10) :
Pretty decent story. Although the pacing gets slowed at the start of the second half, the ending was very satisfying. The main theme of the story is about Kansei uni track & field team, their journey to reach the Hakone Ekiden. wrapped up pretty nicely. However, I would have preferred to get the clear picture of the romantic interest of particular characters but it was left for the audience to guess.
Character (9/10);
“What does it mean to run?” Is it running away from your past or from your responsibility or is it simply to leave everyone behind to reach the eternal glory? The answer to this simple yet puzzling question is what drives the characters forward. Each character from the main cast has their own story to tell. From a physically weak weeb to the best runner of the team. Everyone gets sufficient amount of development and all of this happens through running. As our main cast runs, they search for the answer which ultimately guides them to their future career at the end. Very satisfying character development, loved the way they wrapped it up in only 23 episodes. My only complain is some interesting characters not getting enough screen time to shine. Other than that A class character development.
Art (8/10):
Not much to say in this department. Both art & animation were pretty decent. Especially the last race was animated really well. Some less important race felt kind of rushed but overall a job well done.
Soundtrack (9/10):
Some of the osts were top notch & blended with the overall atmosphere. Especially the soundtracks during the competitions were satisfying to hear. Also both op & ed are pretty good
Enjoyment (7/10):
Would have preferred one or two more episodes for satisfying conclusion to some race & character arc. But above all, a very good motivational sports anime. Really sets up the mood for running huh!
Recommended to people who love watching sports anime with some slice of life dramas and good character developments.

Pt2. Review
Kara no Kyoukai 2: Satsujin Kousatsu is the 2nd movie to be released in the Kara no Kyoukai series and focuses mainly on the events between Shiki & Kokutou in their high school days.
Now, let me start by saying that the after watching the 1st movie, I was instantly hooked into the series and was eagerly waiting to know more about the characters which this movie did focus but the overall character interactions & developments were disappointing to watch.

‘s decision to not report crime while supporting the female mc just cause he was in “love” was so out of place & frustrating to watch.
The story for the most part was ok but the pacing was all over the place. Also the movie ending abruptly and time jumping to the events before the 1st movie also didn’t help the overall pacing.
Furthermore, The mixture of cg and 2d animation were as always blended nicely and the soundtrack succeeded in creating the overall environment for the movie.
Overall, a huge let down for me from the first movie. Hope the future sequels will be more interesting and evenly placed.

Pt 1 Review
Kara no Kyoukai 1: Fukan Fuukei is the first movie of a 7 part movie series. So,rather than reviewing it each part as a standalone movie, I would have preferred to review it as a whole. But sadly it isn’t possible, so I will try as best as I can to review the “bizarre” 1st part of the series
Story: (7/10)

middle of an ongoing arc while providing little to no explanations whatsoever. Now, do remember that this is supposed to be part of a long movie series and it may/will get explained in the future movies, so the messed up chronological order is also supposed to be the way the story is to be consumed. Besides, as a sucker for mystery/supernatural, I felt intrigued throughout the whole show albeit knowing nothing but this may generally cause boredom for a causal watcher. Also the plot kind of gets weird at the end and I really can’t explain it without spoiling it. Nevertheless, I genuinely found the story intriguing and engaging and this is really amazing considering I had zero clues about what I was watching throughout the whole movie. Hopefully I will get to understand the world a little bit more in the next part.
N.B. Be aware that the story deals with sensitive issues such as suicide. It is basically the “theme” of the first episode in a way. Also it gets dark pretty quick. So, expect much gore and bloodshed.
Characters: (7/10)
Reviewing this part is the hardest. In a 50 minute movies which is also happens to be in the middle of an arc providing no background information to the viewers, from a general p.o.v I would say pretty weak cast. But then again this is part of a long series and I genuinely found the main trio interesting despite knowing little to nothing about them. So, giving this part benefit of the doubt is probably the right thing to do (or not heh).
Art: (8/10)
The character designs aren’t something unique but flows well with the overall environment of the story. The mixing of cgi and 2d was done really well especially in the buildings. The animations or the little fight scenes shown were fluid and smooth but nothing praiseworthy. Overall, decent art style and animation as expected from a movie.
Sound: (10/10)
My favorite part of the show. The studio did a perfect job in blending the sound with the overall environment. One prime example would be the ghost girl’s laughter. Literally gave me chills in the middle of the night. Well done.
Enjoyment: (8/10)
The movie was short and it was intriguing albeit being kind of confused(expected) and bored sometimes. Give it a try if you are into mystery/supernatural genre.

I have a confession to make before writing this review which is I was really skeptical about watching this anime as despite having unique premise, most of the slice of life deals with almost same repetitive issues and how the characters overcome them resulting in a same repetitive loop. But where these anime fails, 3-gatsu succeeds. It doesn’t bring any new concepts in the table rather executes the already “cliché” ideas in a poetic way and this was certainly a beautiful experience for me as I hope will be for you too.

living alone and also appears to be a pro shogi player. Did I mention he is introverted too? And to establish these understandings about his character the anime does a fantastic job as the first couple minutes of the 1st episode has no dialogue or interactions rather we see “Life”. Life presented in such a poetic way which instantly sucks in the viewers for the rest of the episodes. Through Rei, we get to see his life from early childhood up to now through bullying, loneliness, tragedy. But despite these, Rei moves on as if swimming through huge sea trying to reach a island and through this the only thing that accompanies Rei’s mind is Shogi as he sees it as his only ticket out of this dark, lonely world. But contrary to Rei’s believe Shogi isn’t the only thing that accompanies him as we slowly get sucked into the lives of the 3 sisters, his adoptive family, Shogi partners, the school teacher and more. Each of them has their own story to tell as we get to see glimpse of it through Rei as the story progresses. Now, what made the story stand out is the execution of Rei’s own inner problems. Despite going through an one year journey while making friends,acquaintances while experiencing many things Rei believes he hasn’t changed at all and so are the others; all searching for that one ticket to board the train of happiness.
Now, the story is near perfect but it does get over dramatic at times which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but even beautiful repetitiveness has it’s limit. So, be expect to get “bored” in certain episodes especially in the later half where the story kind of loses it’s direction but gets back on track in the final few episodes, so not much of a problem. Also despite having zero knowledge about shogi, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the matches. This was only possible due to the poetic nature of the anime and I absolutely love it.
As for characters, most of the cast were well written and made the overall story impactful. Only problem I had was vagueness of certain characters motives or intentions in the story which hopefully will be resolved in s2. Despite these tiny nitpickings the story does great job in presenting characters in unique situations. One moment it can get really tragic while the next moment is pure wholesome before the viewer can even notice it.
Furthermore, the art style is tragically beautiful as the mixing of dark-white color was the best I have seen. Besides, Use of lightening to represent certain character moods and the aesthetics of the overall animation were also another great job done by the studio. This along with the pleasant soundtrack made the anime so much more impactful to the viewers.
Overall, this is without a doubt one of the best slice of life anime out there. Also I heard some viewers get put off the anime due to the art style (or should I say face style heh) which I was also kinda bothered with but trust me, getting used to it will result in one of the best experiences from watching anime and you won’t certainly regret it.

The movie is a REACAP of the whole show up to the last episode of s3pt2.I repeat,it’s a recap meant to refresh the important events of the story.
This movie’s goal wasn’t to present AoT in a different way rather it was to convey what already happened in a summarised way and it did good in that aspect.
So,if you are a fan waiting for s4 and have problem remembering some key moments of the story, this movie is for you. Again, I repeat,the purpose of this movie wasn’t meant for enjoyment.
Therefore,Only watch if you wanna remember the key points of the story upto s3pt2

N.B. This is a very biased review from a ToG reader’s p.o.v.
Let me start by saying this Tower of God is probably the best fantasy/thriller webtoon out there and is one of the most anticipated titles of 2020. So, did it live up to the hype? Was the adaption faithful, disastrous or completely a newer version of the source material? Let’s check it out.
Story(1/10):
One word to summarized it all, “rushed”. Rushed to the point that the story became boring and the end result felt like pointless.Not to mention S1 adapted 79 chapters in 13 episode, basically Tokyo ghoul re situation but worse. It was really

sad to see such a good story reduced to an one dimensional series. Not only did they cut off any details explaining how “Shinsu” works and explanations about the tower as a whole but also they dared to cut off scenes important for the first half of s2. But this isn’t even close to the worst thing the director did with the story which was cutting off these important scenarios in place of filler scenes. Yep, they cut off important plot points to give time for filler scenes serving little to no purpose to the story. Worse mess up since tg:re adaptation.
Character(1/10):
I wish I could give it zero in this part cause this was more messed up than the story part but out of respect for the webtoon, I guess 1 would suffice, eh? Where can I even begin as almost 90% of the main casts were altered to the point they felt like one dimensional characters. A prime example of this would be Bam and Endorsi. In webtoon, from s1 and onward, both are very important to the plot & got good amount of development in s1 especially Endorsi. But the adaptation choose to completely ignore their base character and rushed through it all. Similar to the story part, the director choose to give more unnecessary screen time or should I say fan service to Bam x Khun ship and Bam Rachel filler moments. Again worse mess up since tg:re adaptation(2)
Art & Animation(7/10):
Yes, something good, finally! Both the art and animation were pretty great especially the art was a huge improvement to the comparatively “bad art” of s1 of the webtoon. The animation for the most part was fluid and exciting.
Sound(8/10):
Best part of the show I guess. Not much to say except music by Kevin
Penkin is always pleasant to ear and this one is no exception.
Enjoyment(3/10):
So, dear climber of the tower, I think I have written enough to establish the understanding of this low review. So, rather than writing another paragraph of why I didn’t enjoy it, I will suggest one thing. If you found yourself even slightly enjoying the series or interested in climbing the tower, kindly read the webtoon from chapter 0. It may not have the best story out there but it is without a doubt a really enjoyable read. The art may look kinda rough or bad in s1 but trust me, it improves. It improves to the point it can rival solo leveling in terms of artstyle and the story is so much intricate in the source material with huge cast of characters with their own personalities.
So, rather than saying, “It will get better next season” let’s end this by saying,
“It is already better in the webtoon”.

The anticipated sequel of Youjo Senki has finally arrived & starts off immediately from where it left off (along with some “spoilers” of the future events). From start to finish, the movie has Tanya kicking butts left & right, the Infamous loli smile and Tanya kicking butts again but this time with style. Although the story and characters felt pretty bland to me but had a great time watching it nevertheless.
Story:2/10

little to no plot progression. Besides, the apparent parallel with real world event( WW2 to be exact) as the story progressed made most of the future events predictable. Moreover, the reality of war and it’s effect which were somewhat presented in s1 were barely touched upon making the overall story dull and uninteresting. The only good part of the story seems to start near the end making this whole arc seem like a filler one.
Character:2/10
Youjo Senki was never a character focused show as even in season 1, the only interesting character of the show was Tanya and this movie made it more of an one character show despite it’s attempt to introduce a “rival” of Tanya and have more interactions between Tanya’s squad which at the end felt pretty pointless. But we get to learn some interesting thoughts of Tanya about communist regime(Yes, we have commies and even the chad Stalin himself) which in her words were something along the lines of “Totalitarian with zero brain cells” despite her being part of the “fascist reich”. Furthermore, It was good to see her humane side although rare but it was there subtly throughout the show which hopefully foreshadows her big developments as a character in the sequel.
Animation:8/10
The animation was more or less what one can expect from a movie. From gorgeous art of ww2 era fighter planes, bombers to the mage and dogfights were some of the best parts of the show. Especially fighter plane vs mage fights were really well done in terms of camera movement to outstanding animation. Although there were some “poor” use of cgi’s here and there,
most of the fights were on point.
Sound:8/10
Yoshikazu Iwanami did a perfect job in this department. The fight scenes became more impactful due to the on point soundtrack and osts. Just wish that there were some more new osts for the movie. Almost all of them were more or less modified version of s1 osts.
Tanya moment:10/10 (MANDATORY!!!!)

Best part of the show! From her “evil loli” laugh to sleepy Tanya, she was as always the best part of the show(As it should be!). Also it was great to hear her say ”f** ‘em commies” while flying over “the red square” burning everything and waving the fatherland’s flag haha.
Rating : 6/10
