These are both continuations / sequel manga to beloved shonen series Dragon Ball & Naruto. They both feature new artists with a lot less involvement from the series' original mangaka's. They both have recent anime adaptations and deal with harsh criticism from a sector of fans, they however both have their appeal and have sufficient reader base who praise the work.

I remember seeing somewhere that script writer Ukyo Kodachi said that he got a lot of influence for the manga from reading My Hero Academia, and it can be seen in a lot of areas... Both are fantastic manga!

If you've been keeping up with the Boruto manga hoping to find more of what makes Kishimoto's works so special, you may find more solace in Samurai 8. Having read through a lot of Kishi's work, I think he is capable of recreating a lot of the likeable things seen in Naruto in his other series/one-shots. Fans of his or simply just Naruto/Boruto should seriously consider keeping up with Samurai 8. The chapters released so far are readily translated, available and free so it is a very accessible and an easy time to pick the series up.

Ever wanted to see what if Denji was a ninja and the son of the seventh Hokage, look no further than Boruto. I activily remember while reading chainsaw man how much of Boruto's character I saw in Denji, even though I feel Boruto is a more complex and thought out character. The plot in Boruto is enticing and I feel has more appeal than what chainsaw man had to offer.

Karakuri helped build the foundations of what would become the Naruto series, which followed into Boruto. Stylistically they're very similar. Character designs, environments and outfits all look as though they come from the same world. Both series have sentient talking animal characters. Even the powers certain characters have and fights in the series are reminiscent of each other.
