I have put 8`s all over the board for this one, the reason being is that I just can`t make up my mind.
The story is a good one, a young girl and her even younger brother miles away from home and their parents when disaster strikes....
It may sound weird but I like disaster shows/movies but I guess I am also able to set myself apart from the characters and in this anime I wasn't able too. You see I am the oldest of four siblings so this hit a little too close to home. I bawled multiple times and by the 9th episode I knew how it ended yet I had to complete it.
This story speaks of destruction and beauty, unkindness and forgiveness, selfishness and selflessness, and overall it shows how when disaster strikes you need to be on watch for you and everyone around you. That last part doesn't make sense but at the end of the anime you will understand.
I finished this anime a little over 3 days ago and I still think about it as I try and sleep, it wasn't overly exciting (with gore, violence or romance) but it kept me hooked until the very end (even after I knew what would happen) and even now without re-watching it (I don't know if I could after that last cry fest) I find myself calculating when things happened and little hints throughout different scenes that pointed to the ending.
This is a sad anime as I already said but it is worth watching. The story line is good I really like the artwork and how the duller colours made the background stand out more so you noticed the destruction and devastation of the city.
