While Baraou no Souretsu takes place in England during the Wars of the Roses, Cantarella'story depicts the Borgia'struggle around the same time in Italy.
- Both stories takes place in the mid XVI century and present European political situation with countries engulfed in civil wars.
- Both main characters are associated to sadly notorious real person, Richard III and Cesare Borgia. In these stories, their darkness is rehaussed by the use of the fantastique genre which associate both characters with demons and/or monsters.
- Characters were cursed at birth and born physically different from other people, but shines above everyone else thanks to their mind skills.
