Joou no Hana

Reading Joou no Hana reminded me a lot of Basara, since they are both historical mangas with tragic and epic plots. Both have a very brave young girl as protagonist and in both the girl goes though a long journey where she encounters many characters and she deals with political issues. Basara is slightly more epic and old fashioned in the art style while Joou no Hana has a more recent feel, but they're both really great mangas.
