Denki-Gai no Honya-san is a workplace comedy set in a bookstore in a certain "electric town", whereas Working!! is a workplace comedy set in a family restaurant in Hokkaido. Both follow the funny daily lives of a quirky crew at work; "slice-of-work" if you will.
In addition, the first introduced protagonist of these two titles are a bespectacled young man who is taking up part-time work as the newest employee: Umio for Denki-Gai no Honya-san and Souta for Working!!.
