Both stories have a character loving someone whom they aren't supposed to. Bitter, however, does not dwell on the whole "forbidden love" scene and moves on. Lovesick continues on the "forbidden love" and plays with it nicely. They are different, though, since one is yaoi and the other is normal pairings.
