The MC's both meet with supernatural creatures and certain events cause both to merge together with said supernatural creatures in order to make an unstoppable force, which defeat the antagonists in the series. (In both manga the antagonists are evil spirits/demon things).
Both are also pretty bloody and gory a step up from your average shounen manga.
