Both manga feature a alternate world and fuse together the known universe with the fantasy universe. They both are easygoing and fun to watch, although Gate has the occasional dark share to it.
Those Who Hunt Elves have much more slapstick comedy to it, but Gate uses the variety of characters and their interaction for the jokes.
