Both series feature characters who have somewhat odd characteristics and behaviours. The female protagaonists in both series, for instance, believe they are from a different planet. Moreover, the art work is strinkingly similar in both series. It may very well be that Uchuu no Sparrow was highly influenced by Arakawa Under the Bridge.

Comedies where the main couples in both series are pretty similar, with a down to earth boy with an obsession (one never be in death, the other never stand out) and an eccentric girl who think she's an alien.
