Both have very different plots but are similar in many ways. The artstyles of both are unconventional yet hold the story up. The familiar atmosphere of "the strong yet humble samurai" and a unique cast of characters we come to love in the backdrop of Edo japan.
Takemitsu is a bit more abstract and artistic with more fights while House of five leaves focuses more on the story and seldom has any action. But the ambience is familiar while reading both
