People who keep saying it's Fairy Tail in space just because of the similar character designs and art style obviously didn't read at least 50 chapters. This is more like One Piece in space.
-Both protagonists are on a long quest to find something legendary in a vast and open world setting. Luffy's on a quest to find the legendary treasure One Piece in the ocean while Shiki's on a quest to find Mother in space.
-Both protagonists have a childhood idol figure that inspired them to become who they are. Luffy has Shanks while Shiki has Ziggy.

Many say this is fairy tail in space, but this is much more like One Piece in space.
This system of passing on islands, always saving the local people from some terrible harm. Not to mention the presence of a crew with their building bonds of friendship.
Shiki is very similar to Luffy in his "if you touch my friends I'll destroy you" part.
Another extreme similarity is the passage of Edens zero to the external space with strawhats moving to the grand line/new world.
