The relationships between the main couples in the two manga start as opposites to one another: in one the characters feel deeply for another, but due to outside circumstances are unable to start a relationship, and in the other the characters enter a relationship for more practical reasons hoping for the feelings to develop afterwards. Despite this difference and the ways it affects how the stories develop, the two manga are quite similar on a larger scale as they both tell realistic and nuanced stories about adult queer women and the ups and downs of their lives.
