Mana is like a xxxholic distant cousin. The cultural and historical aspects are presented a similar way on both works, one focusing on Japanese an the other Korean folklore.
Both protagonist are taken by a experienced mentor, and get immersed on the spiritual world, while learning more about themselves and personal relationships, in the end, both end up finding a new kind of love on their guides. (In addition, there's also a similar trouple, jealousy kind of interaction with a folklore university student/professor on both stories).
