Zexal II is when it becomes one to Madoka after being this much lighthearted only to get dark with the true notion that one does not get judged for the book by it's cover
There are still light hearted moments and comedy but the majority of those are absent in Zexal II since Zexal II takes the story to a bigger stage left off by Zexal I.
