Both are about mankind fighting off giant creatures about which they know next to nothing.
Both are serious animes with no comedy.
However, Freezing is ecchi while Shingeki no Kyojin isn't
Both contain many people fighting against large unknown creatures that they are unable to communicate with. As a result humanity is in crisis in surviving against the creatures. In Freezing it's the Novas, in Shingeki no Kyojin, it's the titans. Many people die fighting them because they are very powerful in both cases.
