Both main characters have undergone some serious training in the deadly arts since childhood and have been made into tools for killing (assassins duh)
Both animes kinda go deep and focus more on the MC's past , imo if not for the fan service GnK would be a totally serious anime. It also shows you the events that have transpired before leading upto to the MC's cold cool personality in the present!
