Both shows are unrealistic but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. They have a similar story in the sense that both teams were average and became strong. Both shows feature themes like friendship and team play. If unrealism is not an obstacle for you, you should definitely try it.
A lot of similarities in the plot progression. Although there is a stark contrast between the main characters, the story remains the same: how an average team rose through the ranks after attaining various genius players. Kuroko is even better I would say.
