Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Recommendations
To gain something, you must give equivalent exchange. For a miracle to occur, you must sacrifice equal happiness.
At first glance Madoka Magica and FMA:B seem totally different. One is a shounen show, the other a mahou shoujo show. However when you look past superficial differences the two have quite a bit in common. Both have dark engaging story lines with plenty of foreshadowing and shocking twists. Both have characters who struggle and fight against the terrible things that happened to them and refuse to give up hope. And both involve magic that has a price.
Although these two shows may seem very different, the FMA themes of equivalent exchange are very similar to Madoka Magica;s themes of sacrifice and loss of humanity
Both animes take on a similar trope; in which to obtain something, an equal thing force must be sacrificed. Definitely recommend anyone who has watched FMAB to watch this series. Do not let the title fool you, this series is much darker than you may expect.
