Both animes has characters that at this point are well development, also both have a villain that the characters can do nothing about it, and not because their useless or dumb, it's because the villain have an advantage of everyone, in fact you can feel their fear/frustation for that and that makes it interesting.

In character development, they grew a lot in the other seasons and they're more participating, now the antagonists are more terrible, things only gets more interesting.
