Both anime focus on a young girl who has family troubles and are unskilled at getting along with others. At first, both girls have a reputation in their school for being strange - but a guy comes along and sheds some light on their once-dreary lives. Also, romance and comedy are balanced in both series and also have some drama tossed in.

These are similar in the way that they both pull you in right from the straight episode and make you wan't to watch more, they also live up to your expectations after each episode ends
the female characters are also similar as they don't get a long many people in the start but then start warm up to more people and open their heart
Both are light comedy/romance shows. While Toradora is a bit more focused on the feels/romance apsects kotoura-san has more comedy to it. Despite the comedy focus the show also has its sad and emotional moments (especially episode 1) and thus is a good anime to pick up if u enjoyed toradora !
Both feature a female MC who gets outcasted in school due to her behavior, and no one dares to approach her. However, the male MC approached her despite strong rejection from the female MC.
