Both anime represent the struggles of adulthood in their respective comedic ways.
Nami yo Kiitekure is another show that stars a cranky disillusioned grown-up somehow working as a media personality for our amusement. It's more maturely written and realistic and less slapstick than Uramichi, but the attitude is similar.
